Music City USA Newbie

Question
Hi There Everyone,
I've posted this on the "Welcome Board", but I know a lot of people (especially veterans) may never go there, so I wanted to submit it here also. Hope knowone minds.
I'm am brand new here, and am hoping to get my Ebay business off and running. My wife is a stock broker here in town, and I am a Sprint PCS dealer. We would like to transition to being full-time Ebayer's.
I've been messing around on Ebay for a few years now, buying and selling things here and there. I even went so far last year to import electric scooters from China and sell them (more locally than on Ebay though). That wasn't too great, because everyone I sold to, wanted me to fix them when they broke. So I haven't ordered any more of those.
I would like to find a foreign (China/Taiwan) exporter of electronics to work with. Does anyone have any connections they could refer me to? I've found a company online called Mazziott Direct, they seem to be some kind of broker (I think), am still looking into them. I've also listened to a free seminar from Online Auction Academy last weekend (Fri., Aug. 27th), and they seem to have a pretty good program, but it's $3999. to take there course. Anyone know anything about them?
I'll close for now. Again, my name is Steve, nice to meet everyone. I hope to gain some great advice, and eventually be able to give some too!
Thanks again!
Steve

Just wanted to say Hi and welcome

Answer
Hi Steve, welcome.
I've also listened to a free seminar from Online Auction Academy last weekend (Fri., Aug. 27th), and they seem to have a pretty good program, but it's $3999. Save your money. Anything you need to learn about eBay can be found on their site or message boards such as this one. If you have questions, just ask.

Wholesale sources are a closely guarded secrets. You don't tell the competition your trade secrets.
My advice is find a product you like and try to follow the delivery chain back to the original vendor.
Does Nashville have a Merchandise Mart (wholesaler's market)? Most have strict rules for admittance but sometimes you can find a member who will give you an invite.

Answer
Hello & Welcome Steve from McMinnville, TN!
Sorry, but I can't offer you any advice on finding a wholesale source. As a PP stated, most sellers are very tight lipped about such. And I personally manufacture my own product, so only have info on finding wholesale candle suppliers. LOL
But just wanted to say hello...

Answer
I replied to your other post with a link.

Answer
Electronics is one market for which eBay is nearly useless for sellers that wish to make anything resembling a profit.
As soon as an item achieves a certain popularity, it will be flooded with the terminally clueless selling the widgets for margins of pennies.
And with folks who have functioning frontal lobes, they will realize that on most items Walmart is cheaper anyway since they can sell AT A PROFIT, items cheaper than what you can buy them for.
Case in point: Camera memory.
If you have found some nich items you are comfortable with, you may wish to contact the consulates of the countries their manufacturers are in who may be able to direct you to trade representatives. If lucky you MAY be able to avoid middlemen. If real lucky, you may be able to acquire a regional distributorship.

Answer
Thank you all. I understand about revealing your sources, makes sense. Just trying to find a product I could import that would sell. I have no trouble with hard work as long as I believe in the product and manufacturer.
