considering opening ebay store

Question
I am considering opening an ebay store to help sell a ton of carnival glass, but have lots of questions. I see where a Featured Store is half price for the month of September. Is there a lot of difference between the Featured Store and the Basic Store? If items are put in a store do they also show up when people do a search? Is the price for selling an item in a store similar to the price for selling an item on ebay? Any hints and suggestions and info that anyone could provide would be most definitely appreciated!

srlewis Is there a lot of difference between the Featured Store and the Basic Store?
Since I only have a Basic Store, I haven't looked into the difference but I would imagine that you would get more exposure. The price is not worth it for me. It would be for folks that have more expensive things or a larger volume.
If items are put in a store do they also show up when people do a search?
When a search is done for auction items if there are less than 10 matches it also displays a list of store matches. What I haven't checked out is which store items are displayed first and why if there are many, many store items.

There is a monthly fee for the store based on the store level you choose, then each item regardless of the list price is 2¢ ea. If you add a gallery picture it is 1¢ ea. extra. Other features can also be used at reduced costs. The FVF cost are the same.
Hope someone else will come along and give you some additional detail and/or correct me if I have not given the right information. Good Luck!

Answer
If you open an eBay store for the first time, there is no monthly fee charged for the first month - you simply pay the usual listing fees (2 cents per listing and 1 cent for gallery). A single listing can have a multiple quantity.
If you are not happy with the results, you can always close the store within that first free month. Well worth trying I think.

Answer
Am I right in thinking that the first 'month' ends at the end of a calendar month, like the 31st of August? Or the 30th of September?
Or is your 'month' always the anniversary date of the day (say the 29th) when you started the store?
