Answer
Ebay has become essentially a junk market, and while there are MANY exceptions, they are certainly getting harder to find.
I normally go 'fishing' on certain book categories about once a week. Up until a few months ago I was always able to pull some real goodies out at only a few percent of their market worth.
But recently, nothing. The variety is just not there. Even the attic cleaners are either holding back or pricing way beyond retail for the few decent items there are. There is just LESS variety and quantity of the good stuff, while the junk clogs everything.
This past week I got zilch. Found only two decent books at reasonable prices, but got outsniped by the other predators as the waterhole is drying up fast .....

OUCH! Nice shipping charges. While a couple of my shopping experiences lately has not been as awful shipping charge-wise I have to say I have been less than thrilled.
One item I purchased for $3.98 also charged $3.98 in shipping. Okay it was listed up-front but don't ever assume anything. The item came in an envelope and the postage was 49¢
Another one was an item I paid $7.99 for and $5.00 shipping (also listed in the auction), well again don't assume it's being sent priority. It came in a box, no packaging materials and not even put in a plastic bag. The postage was $1.10
Thank God most of my eBay purchases have been quite pleasant with sellers that aren't out to gouge on shipping. I don't mind a seller making sure their shipping expenses are covered but please don't go overboard. No wonder we sometimes wonder where the buyers went.
Answer
well he will graciously allow me to return the item as my "opinion" of his items are different than his....HA...
no mention of the shipping being returned or who pays the return shipping
which will be like 2.50 from here.
sent him more questions, like
just how much of a refund will I receive
think ebay will do anything about his fee avoidance, me thinks not.
BTW: the same item shipped inside the USA is only, 19.99 shipping http://community.here.com/infopop/em...s/icon_eek.gif

Shame. Sellers here including myself go out of their way to make it a good experience and yet those type of sellers you mention slide through and likely do very well.
Some days it's better to sell than buy.
I bought a nice item once on ebay. Shipping was $20.00 my cost, his cost $6.00. The item I bought I could have bought at a store for the same price (doh') but didn't. Dumb de dumb dumb... of me.
Sorry to hear of your bad experiences...Imagine the first time buyers on ebay and their horrors?

every day
and I forgot to say, I will be out the 25.00 canadian taxes and fees on this crapola, even if I do get a 100% refund, I am still out $$$
and I cringe to think of how many first timers get a guy like this, buy ten or so items have 60% bad experiences and walk away
Wally world is rarely a bad experience.

"Dear Dissatisfied eBay Buyer,
When you return, in as-sold condition, the item you've purchased, you may subtract the cost of return shipping from your refund total.
Hace a nice day."
