If you bought it, it is your property....then why can't you sell it?

Question
http://community.here.com/3/ws/emoticons/nono.gif I purchased a Weight Watcher's 2004 Flex Points Starter Kit, used it a few months and then listed it on eBay and it was knocked off. The reason given was Weight Watcher's doesn't allow any items with their name on eBay. DUH.....they need to look at the pages and pages of Weight Watcher's items ON eBay. First of all, if the item belongs to me can Weight Watcher's say I can't sell it on eBay? I think NOT! Also, how do they decide which items to leave on and let slide through and which items to bump off? I have sold old Weight Watcher's recipe books before with no problem.
This item is AUTHENTIC and belongs to me. I am not trying to pass it off as a weight watcher's item and it isn't so there shouldn't be a problem.........SHOULD THERE??????

Answer
Bump, for some opinions

Answer
Have you contacted the Vero details that I believe are supplied with the auction termination notice (I have never been vero'd so I do not know the real format).
I do agree that the item is legitimately owned by you, and you should have a right to sell it by any appropriate means (and I consider Ebay appropriate). I would be interested in Ebay's response, as well as that of the Vero member. Please post them here if you get any responses.
Kind Regards, Kevin
PS. Has anyone worked out how to get rid of this pop-up reply crap this time around?

Answer
I'm not an expert at this but I think the WW stuff that you buy directly form them, the point system stuff, will be Vero'd. The mass-market stuff, cookbooks you can buy at Barnes & Noble, are allowed. Not fair but they are one of the companies that use their Vero rights avidly.

Answer
Di you sign a contract when you buy the stuff from weight watchers? If so, is there any clause(s) relating to the resale/ownership of goods?
Interested (but not in using WW), Kevin

Answer
I was thinking along the same lines as KevinT. Sorta like buying software. Somewhere along the line there was probably a clause saying you can't resell.

Answer
No contract is signed when you purchase items. I have copied this from the VERO Weight Watchers page:
The following items may NOT be auctioned:
ALL Program booklets (this includes the numbered weekly booklets, Today's Special, In the Groove, Going the Distance, and the Welcome booklet)
Self-Study Guide
Action Sheets
QuikTrak System
Fast Track Kit
Pick-me-up Guide
Recipe cards
POINTSfinder® and POINTSbooster® manual sliderules
E-Tools access codes
Copies of any Weight Watchers items
Prepaid coupons
It is prohibited to sell any recipes using POINTS® that have not been verified by Weight Watchers International, Inc.
Also, there are pages and pages of items for sale on eBay exactly like the item I was selling. Wonder how these people are able to slip through?

Answer
I got a letter from WW the other day that says THEY WANT ME BACK!!!! only $15 to re-join and ONLY $9.95 a week!
well gee... really? Only that?
hold on while I grab my checkbook.
What I loved about them was that you had to pay for your weekly "meetings" even if you DONT go to the blasted things.
If you miss so many you have to "re-join" and pay up again.
But of course they are only here to help us lose weight. They are there for us. its not about the money. nope. http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif

Answer
weight watchers key to success is they keep you so broke you can't afford to eat
Some one turned you in sweetie, that's why you got knocked off.Better be careful for a little while someone is watching your auctions.

Answer
I sold my stuff last year after I reached my goal, and didn't get VERO'd. Yup, someone turned you in. There were jillions of auctions for them when I sold mine. And, I got more than I paid for it too! http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif
Sorry this happened to you. What a PITA. So when will GM say you can't sell your used car on eBay? Just doesn't seem right to me....
