Question
I'm having a problem with the way Store sales are showing in the Items I've Sold area of My eBay.
I have preferences set to have the most recent sale on the top of the list.
Store items stay on the list beyond the two day default setting and are also sometimes out of order with auction listings.
Many of the Store sales are one of several items available (store is stocked with multi quantity of new items) and I expect the 30 day Store listing ending date rather than the single item sale date is being reflected in the list.
Anyone else experiencing a sequencing problem with Store sales? Any insights or suggestions?
Answer
Unfortunately store items where only some of the quantity has been sold will stay on the Sold list until the listing expires. It's made that section of My eBay useless to me. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif
You can manually delete the auction from the Sold list but I THINK that means that if you sell further quantities of that item, the auction will not pop up on the list.
Answer
just another way for them to try to force that selling manager on you....IMO...
I pay them every month just so I can sort the lists of sold item the way I need to....I used to do it from myEbay page.
I don't use it for anything else.

I've been noticing this too....the other thing is that I used to be able to generate a spur of the moment sales total from ebay by asking for a 30 day list of items sold.
That 30 day list does not reflect those items that you have manually deleted.
And yes, items that you have deleted from the list manually do not show up again once you sell another one.
Gabs you say selling manager allows you to see the proper results? I guess we'll have to go to using it too since store sales have been very active and it is getting confusing.
Thanks for the info!

Answer
what I can't understand, is why does the store have its own department of sold and unsold items separate, geez we pay enough for the store space..
oh parden me, that would make sense so ebay could not possibly do that<sarcasm mode off now> http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif

Yet another reason I use Vrane sales reporter - it gives me accurate information I can no longer get from eBay - it's a pay per use thing but their sales reporter has so much information in it, I cannot imagine not having it anymore, it's priceless.
I run the report at the end of each month and copy the results into a word document I save and always have available. It's been a godsend.

Answer
It undermines the purpose of My eBay when store sales more than 2 days old (or whatever setting you employ) appear at the top of the sold list. In fact it shows the general lack of attention to detail that plagues eBay as a whole.
The eBay Stores have always been the neglected and abused eBay Cinderella story waiting to happen. All it would take is someone competent to run that program, instead of the unimaginative dullards who are obviously stealing their paychecks every week.
What changes there have been were very slow to arrive, and many more are needed. This is just one example.

I never understood the advantage to the store idea? Do people actually look at them rather then hit view sellers other items? Do the sales offset the costs that much? For 9.95 a month can't you just get a website?
Answer
stores work well with sellers who sell a ton of things - people just don't like scrolling through 25 pages of items when you have hundreds of auctions up.
You can categorize you items very well and if you cross-sell properly, you get a lot of store sales. Since it only costs 2 cents to list a store item, vs the cost of an auction, to me it's money well spent.
We pay for the cost of our store on the first billing day of each month, easily - we get about 5-12 store sales each day on average.
It really only works well if you do auctions too though.
