Question
I've been offline for a couple of days after the monitor I've been using for the last 4 years decided to die.
I have 2 other monitors and decided that since I have to do the work of taking one out and bringing another one in, I might as well get off my lazy can and move my computer and all equipment into the office of my new house where it belongs. I've had it in the bedroom on a night stand for 4 months.
The thing is.....the old monitor is the one i used for picture editing and all my eBay stuff. I liked the color on it really well.
But the other monitor (a couple of years newer) makes everything look faded out and lighter. I've never used it for image editing.
So now I'm using it for eBay and as soon as I hooked it up I noticed that my pictures that I've made the background black with Corel Photoshop, look absolutely awful. They're all blotchy black and gray.
These pictures looked perfect on my other monitor and now I have to worry that they might REALLY look that bad on eBay, and always have???? Man, I hope not!
Could someone please take a look at my auction for Little Tikes Red Easel and let me know if it actually does look as bad on your monitor as it does on mine?
Thanks bunches.
Pat

Thanks Mike. I was really worried. I do have another monitor that I haven't tried yet on this computer, but it's too huge for the space I'm set up in.
I'm going to have to network my computers so I can see my pics on both monitors. Sooooo much hassle for sooooo little money. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif

I have a newer monitor too, and I noticed that everything seems to be lighter and brighter compared to my old one.
What I am seeing on the red easel, is a mottled black background.
Also, the rumple bunny auction pic looks odd - the background looks grey with black scribbles. Is that the corel?
Doesn't look bad - kind of interesting actually.

I just fired up my new computer I bought a couple of weeks ago and the photo still looks good to me although it's a little brighter on this new moniter.

maybe it's something with the older vs newer monitors? I think my 17 inch monitor is about 2 years old but it might be closer to 3 (time slips away from you ya know). Anyway, don't want to sound mean http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif but the background looks like carp on my monitor, all blotching and different sized squares, some black and some grey. That was on a plate auction you had up.
On the easel auction, the background looks that way also but around the legs of the easel it almost looks like that part is hand drawn instead of being a picture, the edges are all jagged.

Looks great to me. It's got to have something to do with the different monitors.

Well, that does it. Too many of ya are seeing my cruddy pictures the same way I am on this newer monitor.
Back to the drawing board I guess.
I'm so embarrassed that I've been putting that kind of picture on my auctions for quite a while. They looked so good on my old monitor.
I sure wish one of my auction winners had said something before.
I think tomorrow I'll revise one of them and see if it does any good.
Thanks you all. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif

The background didn't necessarily look bad, just not solid black. On the easel, I could see what looked like lamp and desk or shelf in the background.
this on an older (5 or 6 yrs) monitor that is trying to die and that has the brightness turned all the way up, but is still not as bright as DH's new monitor.
On some of the toys, it looked like a fun 'mod art' kind of background... I would imagine that is why no one ever said anything. It doesn't look like a mistake unless you know what its supposed to be.
