USPS Supplies

Question
Anyone experiencing delays recieving supplies from the fulltillment house for USPS? Seems to be taking sometime...

Answer
I haven't ordered anything for a couple of months but did run into something while in line at the post office on Wednesday afternoon.
There was a guy who needed one of the large triangular PM tubes. The post office didn't have any of the large but gave him two smaller ones to tape together. He said he had been on the USPS website but was unable to order them. I asked if he had checked both "personal" and "business" use because they sometimes differ in what is offered. He said he had.
The postmaster spoke up and said she (as the post office) could not get the large square boxes ... just like the ones I was shipping in. I told her I would be glad to order a supply for her and she said no thanks. She said that she was told that if the post office did an audit on her location and found the "illegal" boxes, she would be written up for it.

Answer
I thought we were supposed to return excess boxes to the post office it we decided that they were not needed. How can their own boxes be a problem for them? Not that anything surprises me about the statements of individual post offices.

Answer
I ordered 6 boxes of Priority Boxes 2 weeks ago received them in 8 days from the time I ordered online

Answer
I ordered 6 boxes this week, and there was a popup that there could be additional processing delays of an additional 3-5 business days on top of the 10-14 days they say to expect them.

Answer
Sometimes, when the site is having problems, orders just... disappear. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...s/icon_eek.gif This happened to me about a year ago.
I ordered a month or so ago and the shipment arrived in about a week.

Answer
Very Interesting. One problem encountered stated by the USPS employee on the 800 #, stated that the website was not accepting orders in increments of "10"'s, that the site is accepting them in quantities of "20's" though. So, I bumped the order and recieved two boxes of 10's 10 days later. Weird. Also, I hear that the offices are not ordering them as they now come out of their budget? Weirder!!
Are they slowly doing away with free Priority Boxes?
Also, yes you are supposed to return the unused boxes to them, "government property", but some are so out of date now, they don't even want them.
I guess affixing a label to them flat envelopes to accomadate Flat Rate pricing rather than Zone rate pricing would be too much to ask. Let's just print another run...
Also, since it's a third party fullfilling the orders, their may be delays. Who is it now?

My postie told me that they cannot order them. Nothing to do with budget.

Answer
Why can't they, is the question. I'm missing something there..

Answer
This is all heresay, but the postal supervisor I spoke with said certain box sizes have to ordered one pallet at a time. If you can accept a pallet delivery and the equipment to offload it, you can call business services for a delivery.
