Has your eBay "Me" page been hijacked?

Question
Take the URL from your Me page and plug it into this utility to see how the search engines see the page:
http://www.searchengineworld.com/cgi-bin/sim_spider.cgi
(this is a real web utility, not a joke site)
Do you get a bunch of German stuff?
Somehow, the Me page for this NARU user is seen by search engines when they crawl crawl other users Me pages:
http://members.ebay.com/ws2/eBayISAP...userid=default
Thoughts?

Answer
Nope, no problem here. To see what gets "crawled", look for your listing in the search engine. There's where it really matters.

Tekgems:
Your eBay Store may be listed in a search engine-- and it may look fine. It may be a cached copy from weeks ago (before this problem developed), it may also be a more current version, but you're losing the relevant keywords that will increase your rankings in the SERPS.
Here's how search engines see the TekGems eBay Me page:

Unless you're targeting a German market, you've got a problem. As do all of us.

Answer
I'm not having a problem seeing my own About Me page on eBay. Your web browser and/or computer is likely compromised by a trojan.

Answer
TekGems-
You're not understanding what I'm saying-- maybe I'm not being clear.
I've not having trouble seeing your Me page, or mine, either. And mine, and yours, show up in search engines.
A couple weeks ago, eBay changed the address for your Me page to a dynamic URL:
http://members.ebay.com/ws2/eBayISAP...ww-tekgems-com
If you click on any of your "me" icons on eBay, this is the URL that you get, not the old static URL.
It's these new URL's, in conjunction with a user's decision to change his userID to "default" that creates the problem.
When a search engine follows that link on eBay-- the search engine sees the German stuff, instead of your stuff.
Put your dynamic Me url from any eBay icon into the utility, and see your Me page the way a search engine does.

Answer
I see - it is a 302 Temporary Redirect to the dynamic URL. It should really be a 301 Permanent Redirect. But other than that, the redirect is working fine. The tool you are using does not work correctly in all situations. In this example, the tool does not know how to parse after the ampersand in the URL. So, in effect, it is looking at
http://members.ebay.com/ws2/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage
instead of
http://members.ebay.com/ws2/eBayISAP...ww-tekgems-com

Answer
Tek is right - because the URL is now dynamic, it aborts prior to the user name information - so it goes to Default which happens to be the username of an account in Germany.
A Pink came onto a thread about this topic on the EBay stores board (I think it was) and explained it.

I list at many different sites : My Ebay Storefront and My Ioffer Storefront
Or perhaps you'd prefer to visit SYI Listings and finally My Website

Answer
Actually, the pink didn't say it was a problem with the utility-- but that the current dynamic URL's being used by eBay weren't being properly read by the search engines:
********
Here's where the problem comes in. Search engines only spider pages, they don't attempt to spider every option on every page (they couldn't, there are too many options). So when you grab the URL above, the spider only sees:
http://members.ebay.com/ws2/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage
and ignores the Userid. If you click that link, our page finds no Userid in the URL and defaults to -you guessed it- "Default" which just happens to be the real Userid of a member in Germany.
***************
If the problem is in the utility, that's one thing. If eBay's dynamic URL's, and their allowing a user to take the ID "default" are resulting in search engines going to user "default's" Me page when trying to spider my Me page, that's another kettle of fish.

Answer
After reading the default me page, it looks like the person registered default on purpose.
Here is the translation through http://world.altavista.com/

miCH side of default
Hello!
You landed on mithe CH side of default.
I am not actively active with the user name in ebay, so that it concerns a maladministration.
hmm, how, which, where???
I concern myself vocationally with software development and software quality and after some considerations the user name default added myself.
' default ' is a default of the ebay system for unknown member names.
The result:
- default has problems when logging in
- default gets enormous amounts of ' questions of ebay members ', mostly bids without the ebay system
- default gets Mails with ' request for new password ', naturally never requested
- default gets ' over-bid Mails '! (naturally without to have ordered)
- default receives visitors on its miCHside, without doing which for it
and so some more.
