Question
Most stuff I bid on, I snipe. I haven't done it in a while tho, and it looks like they've made it so you can't snipe anymore. I signed in, went to the auction I wanted to snipe, and had over a minute left. I decided to place my bid then instead of waiting until the last 20 seconds like I usually would do. When I placed my bid, I had to sign in AGAIN before it would accept my bid! It took over a minute to process my second sign in and finally processed it a couple of seconds after the auction ended, so of course, I got the "auction ended" notice instead of my bid going in. What's up with that? This signing in again when you place a bid is going to make it near impossible to snipe anymore. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif
Answer
Start a second screen and process your bid as far as keying in your name and password (but don't click). Then go back to your first screen and refresh until you're near the closing time. Then go to the second screen and finish processing your bid.
Answer
Sandy,
Vrane.com will let you snipe one at a time for free.
Answer
Thanks, Irene and dw. I didn't realize anything on Vrane was free anymore. Will give them a try tonight. Luckily, there's more than one listing for this, although the one I missed was the best price.
Answer
Sandy...you don't need Vrane (or any other site). Irene has given you the key. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif

With the success (NOT) rate I've been having on Ebay lately, like, today something in search keeps crashing my browser, I think Vrane might be the way to go. Will try the other way on a day when things seem to be working properly, lol! Oh, how I long for the good ole days when Ebay was soooo much easier. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif

Beth,
I will agree with you IF you want or can be by a computer at the end.
I just place a snipe anytime, and forget about the auction. If I win, fine, if not, no biggie. I generally have about 20 bids going at all times. So being by the computer is not for me.
Answer
Maybe you can still manually snipe if you have broadband, but I don't, and ebaY auction pages routinely take nearly a minute to load. That makes manual snipes difficult.

Sure ya can and you still only need one window to do it.
The first time you saw the auction you should have decided what the max you wanted to pay was.
Check the auction a couple of minutes before it closes and if it's still less than your max, check your clock with eBays, place your bid and confirm it. Then just watch your clock and when it's time, click the button and submit your bid.
This works no matter your connection type or speed, you just have to figure the "windage". http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif

Songbird,
I found Vrane's sniper program to be unreliable. I have started to use Auctionsniper. Yes, they charge. Not very much, and it takes care of bids when I want to place them but will not be near a computer to do so. They do not charge very much at all. www.auctionsniper.com
