Question
The last time I changed some of my catagory names around to keep them alphabetical I ended up messing up all the stock in the store. Does anyone know of a way to move the catagory up or down in the list and have the stock come with it? I hope I'm explaining myself well enough to be understood.

I don't think you can, as although we give them names, ebay has them by category number, so anything in category 1 will stay there, even if you are renaming it to the category it was in before.
You'd have to go in and change all your store items one at a time. And I don't think you could change the ones that have sold items. I had to do that when ebay added categories. It was a pain, but worth the extra categories.

Jill is right. I remember when they added additional categories and I had to re-do every item when I reconfigured categories ... a real PIA. Lucky for me at the time I didn't have too much in the store but now I have approximately 800 items. I can't even imagine what would be like now to have to re-do it all.

At this time there isn't a way to change the display order of your Store Categories.
However, eBay stores team staff have posted that this is a feature that is coming....

I had this exact thing happen to me last week when I added and moved some of my store categories. What a mess I made. Unfortunately, many of my store items had purchases and I wasn't able to change the category. What I eneded up doing was fix what I could and cancel all the others (not sure how much $ that cost me). I'm now getting around to relisting :-(

Gosh, I wish I had read this before this morning. I've been up all night long trying to fix the categories after I decided to alphabetize the categories. What a mess! Some of my items, I can't even find. If I could just figure out the logic, I could fix the problem, but there seems to be no logic at all; some of my items are ending up in two different categories and when I click on refresh, they jump to another category. Yikes!!!!!!!

Hey..One I know ..
Elizdale..The items don't refresh right away..and sometimes they will refresh, but then unrefresh ..You won't see the "final" move for hours and hours ..
Thus, it makes it really hard to see what you are doing..I watched Jim try to do it a few times ..(one of those, I don't beleive it's from across the room that I HAD to see ..
