How would you do a SALE in your eBay Store?

Question
I searched for info on this but couldn't find anything that quite answered my question.
I have loads of stuff in my Store that I want to get rid of. I want to have a Store Clearance Sale, but I'm not sure how to proceed.
If I put CLEARANCE!, etc. at the top of the store in the description, do you think folks will see it? I was thinking of EVERYTHING 50% OFF, or something like it.
I want to avoid having to change the items individually - I'll just cancel them rather than do that.
I also thought I'd list a couple of auctions with big banners about a store sale.
Any thoughts? If this has been discussed, please point me there!

Well right off the bat I see a problem with you eating higher FVFs if you don't individually lower prices.
I run specials in my store all the time. I have a promotion right now that if one buys 3 of the same item they get free priority shipping (nothing heavy) it's at the top banner in my store and mentioned individually on the items in this promotion. Just last week someone bought 3 and didn't realize shipping was free (go figure).
Another way is to run some auctions and heavily promote the sale in your store.
Hope this helps.

I agree with brodysmom, if you don't change the price ebay will get too much and you will manually have to change invoices.
If you do decide to change the price on them, I have seen store owners take one of their categories and name it sale/clearance/50% off whatever as the name of the category and move it all in to there.

Good thoughts!! It wouldn't have occurred to me about the FVF until I got next months invoice. Dum-da-dum-dum!!
I will definitely be promoting my store sales through Auction listings. I'm going to post one or two with "featured" to drag in attention.
I better get cracking with making the changes. Darn those FVF!!!
Now that I think about it, though, maybe I should try the free shipping for a couple of weeks first, see if that helps move stuff along. Too bad I don't over-charge on shipping, it would be more of an incentive! http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif
I need to give this more thought. Thanks for your advice!
