Date: 04/06/04 Time: 10:36:07 AM PDT
We are pleased to announce that the enhancements to our Search and Browse pages are currently being introduced to the site. These changes are designed to make it even easier to find the items you're looking for on eBay. While we are rolling out these changes, they may or may not appear each time you visit a Search or Browse page. Once they are fully introduced to the site over the next few days, members will see the enhancements consistently.
Enhancements include these highlights:
Features to help you narrow down or expand your search - You will be able to drill down to a more specific category, while still keeping your original search parameters or adding new ones. Similarly, you can also move back to a higher-level category if your search has gotten too specific, or easily remove some of your search controls.
Customization of existing features - We will provide a new "Customize" link on the pages that allows you to choose your own default display settings and the tools shown in your Search Options area.
The display of eBay Stores or international listings when an original search returns 10 or fewer listings - If your search returns a very small number of items, eBay will automatically look for the same or similar items in other areas such as eBay Stores and from international sellers.
A simpler Picture Gallery layout - "Gallery View" is being renamed as "Picture Gallery" and will display items and their Gallery pictures in a more logical fashion.
An improved "look and feel" - The "outside" sections (in yellow to the left and above the listing results) will display the filters and controls you can use to determine what shows in the listing results (the "inside" of the page). Sort controls will be located right above the listing results, so you can easily choose the order in which you'd like to display the listings. Also, previous filters such as "Ending Today" and "Going, Going, Gone", which previously displayed only those types of listings, have been made into sorts. This way, members can see these types of listings first, and also view everything else in the category they're browsing without changing their controls.
For more information about these changes, please see our Overview. There is also a thread on the Search Discussion Board for members to post their questions and comments.
We hope these changes help make it easier for buyers to shop on eBay!
Regards,
eBay

Ugh ...the font size on the new search is too small. I have "view, text size" set on medium, have to change it to "larger" just for ebay.

Why did they change "ending today" to "ending soonest"? SOONEST?? Geez ... http://community.here.com/infopop/em...n_rolleyes.gif

Because they can. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif
Did you find it difficult to get back to the main search area after going to the Completed auctions search?

No, just hit the back button a couple of times. Have others had problems?
Answer

MAn I hope not http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif

Answer
you got that right toystover!!
It looks like you have to put a price in there to get the auctions.I am not at all pleased with that change. It was really handy to just type in an item and hit highest priced to get an idea of ending prices.I have the feeling we will soon see the "end" of completed search.
I just hope the buyers like it anyway? It does just look more confusing though in my opinion.I can see a newbie getting frustrated with it.
Answer
Teek, is it under the drop-down menu? Look and see if that is what you are looking for.....gives you the four choices.

thanks peggy sue!!!
I found it.looks like you have to put a check in completed and then once that loads click "refine search" and it is in a drop down at the bottom.
It used to just be a tab at the top.More clicking but at least it is *still* there http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif
Thanks for your help!!
