Huh? They can't justify taking a pic?
Answer
Guess they don't wanna sell it too bad, huh? http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif

I hate auctions with no pictures.
Someone was selling embroidery designs and there were no pictures so I emailed and asked for just a few to see if they were any good. They replied that there were too many to list. I only needed to see one. Everyone else list all the designs.
I skip over the auctions if they have no pictures.

Answer
Out of curiosity what were they offering. If you're offering an ornamental plate and not including a picture of it you're out of step with your competition. On the other hand if you're offering a CD and not offering a picture then you've got some serious sellers subscribing to that practice.

Duh... I just realized I could do a search and find out for myself.
Yes, the seller isn't being smart. A picture offered on clothing auctions is almost mandatory for me.

Well, color me enlightened! I didn't want to look stupid when MrJohnFord said he realized he could do a search on the auctions...A copy and paste later, I found the auctions. Wow - I only enter keywords and never stopped to realize I could enter half of a paragraph. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif
My favorite part was the seller's closing statement in the listing:

quote:
Thank you for viewing my auctions.

http://community.here.com/infopop/em...n_confused.gif
I am now enlightened and entertained! For items so meticulously cared for (and I am sure they are) I think images would have made all the difference in the world. I don't think I would bid on an auction of anything without an image.
OTOH - I did like the way she expressed this:
quote:
Win multiple auctions, make a single payment, and I will modify mailing costs to your advantage.

My stance (approach) is different but that's a nice way to stop multiple PayPal payments from newbies!

This is a mom selling off the outgrown kid's clothes.
I cant see her buying a $300 digital camera to sell a few clothes now and then.
Not a pro. Complete amateur. Where we all started out. And what made ebay what it is.
More power to her.
Though she might well get higher prices with pics.

I'm afraid I sympathize with the seller on this one. If her prices ARE cheap then she does NOT have the time and money to expense on taking pictures. Don't bid on the item if you're not sure. I get this same question 2 or 3 times a day. My answer is similar. I still have never used a digital camera.

Ebay has become so sofisticated that the sofisticated buyers need only look at the feedback, and description to decide, unless they're looking for a "real bargain"...I've often wondered the same thing. Am I credible enough with 2400 feedbacks that I should have to bother with pics on some merchandise...
Either way, careful what you buy. It's not always like shopping in the store, with or without the pictures.
Answer
For me, every auction gets a pic. Selling books it seems to be mandatory. A simple picture will tell alot about condition.
Most people are visual and identify well with pictures. I do several searches for specific items daily and on some of them all I look at is the picture to know if I need to read the description. The picture can tell me a collectible book from a regular copy.
