Question
I'm getting sick and tired of eBay's rule changes, no reply to customer service, and Persnickety attitude.
I'll still use eBay to certain extent, but I'm looking for a good auction site that other sellers are pleased with.
I went to BidBay, and they looked decent, but I don't know if they are any good either.
Does anyone have any good sites?

eBay does act like the proverbial 800lb gorilla, and they "tick me off" quite often, but there isn't another auction site anywhere that I've looked at that gets a sell thru rate that's high enough that I want to waste my time with.
Wish it wasn't like that, but it is.

What is it about ebay that people don't go to other sites?
I had an account at golds, and Alta Vista and actually sold things through them.
If eBay had good competition, then they wouldn't be such jerks.
I went to Ubid, but I don't think you can sell through them, and they had a lot of traffic http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif
Does anyone know anything about ioffer?
Thanks!

I list stuff on Yahoo, and I've actually sold just about every single thing I've listed. Takes a while, sometimes. The multiple relists were a lot easier to put up with when you didn't have to pay a listing fee, though.
Supposedly, the fee was instituted to help rid the site of junk listings. I always thought that, if Yahoo wanted to get rid of the junk that would never sell without chasing away sellers who didn't want to pay multiple listing fees for relists while waiting for a buyer to show up, they should have made the listing fee refundable upon the completion of a successful auction.

I list on Yahoo, sellyouritem.com, and Ioffer - and have sales there, but far less than eBay....

Yes, I do. It's my own website, but it's not an auction site. I decide what I want for something, and list it with that price. There is no REAL competition for eBay. I got tired of looking and took my ball and went home. http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif

Hi
I have tried quite a few of them, but finally got it narrowed down to
ebay
yahoo
sellyouritem.com
I have my website, which I better get working on it SERIOUS.
It appears ebay is making a lot of changes, and after finally taking paypal again, it's going to remain a personal account, not a business account. I don't use checkout.....
and don't want to use checkout http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif
Now I have to rethink if I am going to open a ebay store again.
I don't use turbolister as the many new upgrades/downloads are a pita to my dial up.

MelBay you have the right idea. With website if it fails you have no one to blame but yourself. The harder you work at it the better your results will be. I'm working like a madman to get all my keywords on Google page one before serious holiday shopping starts. I sell way more on my website than I did on any of those secondary sites. 200+ million daily google searchers are looking for something. Just hope I got it.

I got tired of eBay & Ruby Lane and took my balls and went home. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif
I'm also MUCH happier!
Sell Your Item = everything eBay USED to be, but little traffic (for me).
www.ioffer.com = takes a little getting used to, but I've found items. Haven't offered any.
Perhaps this (older) article will assist:
Old & New auction sites & what they have to offer.
