Question
I've asked this in auction discussion too--
I'm seriously thinking about jumping in and doing this.
But I have a couple of questions that the "tutorial"
either didn't answer or just wasn't clear on.
First- It's $9.95 a month and then 5¢ per item for 30 days
riht? If I put it on as "good til cancelled" is it just a
rollover of 5¢ every 30 days or is it extra?
Second- If I list it in my store and then want to move it to auction, do I have to cancel it in the store and make up
an auction or can I move it automatically into auction listings?
Third- Are the stores getting traffic? And making sales?
Fourth- If I read correctly, these listings are fixed price listings. But if you put a BIN on it, it's an extra 5¢.
I do not understand that at all! I thought FP and BIN were the
same!
Tia!

For a basic store, yes, that's correct. You can also use Gallery for only .01 every 30 days. I now have all of my store items in as GTC so I don't have to worry about relisting them manually anymore.

If you have multiples of the same item, you can use the SELL SIMILAR link in My Ebay and change the format from Store Inventory to Auction.
If you have only one item, you must close the item in the store, and then you can relist the item and change the format.

I'm doing OK - a lot of this depends on how much work you put into promoting it, and pulling the traffic in via your auctions.

No, you are mis-reading the fees. They are fixed priced listings listed for 5 cents for 30 days - no BIN surcharge applies.

Katiyana covered most.. BUT you must run auctions. Thats what normally brings the traffic to your store. The big advantage is low costs using the penny gallery & parking something for a month for only a nickle.
Do you combine auctions to save shipping costs? If so the ebay store can be a great way to bring in that second sale
supposedly the blurb you put in your store is in google search so make it a good blurb.
Don't forget the penny gallery.. so its 6 cents per listing.. good till cancelled 6 cents the first month & 5 every other.
ohoh.. I'm getting email.. Its someone shopping in my store they're up to 14 Bins so far ( I have $3.00 items) See why I love the store?

Imosh.. You should get a store.. if for no other reason then being able to put your items in categories and all your stuff(store & auction) is then searchable within your own ID
ps.. why don't you state your combined auction policy on your auction page, or did i miss it?

Answer
its 6 cents every 30 days, not 5 cents if you're using the penny gallery you get charged that penny each month as well. 8)
Agree completely that well designed auctions to pull people into the store are necessary....
I've been experimenting with hyperlinks and mini-picture galleries within my auctions to pull people into my store - and its working 8)...

Answer
what has worked very, very, very well with us is to take all of our BIN's off the standard auctions then put a link at the top of some of our auctions that state something like "Don't want to wait for this action to end? Buy this item immediately in my Store" or soemthing like that and make it a clickable link to that same Ebay Store item - We list items now for the most part for 7 days which means that gives the potential buyer 7 days to see the ad, and then go to our Ebay store and do a "buy it now" there for that same item
I had a auction last week that didn't sell, but it drove 7 buyers to the same item in our Ebay Store and 3 of those 7 buyers purchased more than one of the same item - which they wouldn't have if they had just purchased the auction
We haven't got all of our items set up that way, just about 30% of them but with Christmas coming on this is something we are working on to get more auction items driving folks to the Ebay store - you need to keep in mind that you need to list the Ebay Store Item as a GTC auction ( Good to cancelled ) so that when that store item is relisted automatically after 30 days, it keeps the same item number so that your auction that points to that number, doesn't end up pointing to a invalid item number
it is a lot of work, but once you set a certain item up, it is set up until you say it isn't any longer
good luck Paul
