<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Coming Soon: 1-Day Listings
Date: 09/17/03 Time: 09:12:08 AM PDT
We are pleased to announce that we will soon be introducing 1-Day Listings. In addition to the currently available 3, 5, 7, and 10 day durations, sellers will be able to list their items in auction format for a 1-day duration. To list a 1-Day Listing, sellers are required to have either a minimum feedback rating of 10 or be ID Verified.
The 1-Day Listing feature enables sellers to quickly sell more inventory of a single item, and sellers listing "perishable" items, like event tickets, will now be able to benefit from a faster auction format as well. Bidders enjoy speedy listing endings and access to more items. Finally, around the holidays, 1-Day Listings help both buyers and sellers make the most out of the last few days of the shopping season!
The 1-Day Listing feature will be available this Fall. We hope that this new feature will help enhance your eBay buying and selling experience!

Remind me how long it takes for an item to show up in the search engine? I am sure I will be using this "new feature" quite often. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...n_rolleyes.gif Is there a charge? http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_razz.gif

My eBay Auctions...Hey, I listed a few!
Answer
A few months ago, the indexing process was improved so that now your item can be found with title/description search after just ten minutes of listing it.
The title/description indexing time used to be as long as 24 hours.

I don't know about Fridays after scheduled maintenance, but at other times now they have it down to 3 or 4 minutes. It is one area where Ebay does deserve congratulations for a noticeable improvement in their system and in helping productivity on the site.
As for a one day auction, blowed if I would use it, and, well I am not too sure if the hijack scam implications are any worse than the current use of Buy It Now - but Ebay should be getting the hijack scams under control before introducing it.
But wait, I still have an email address ID so it is me that is putting the Ebay "community" at risk.

Won't that cut into ebay's but-it-now revenue?

Now that is where I will use it, especially around Halloween if it's implemented by then.

One of the things I used to like about Yahoo was that you could do 1 day, 2 day, 3 day, 4 day, 5 day, 6 day, 7 day, 8 day, 9 day, & 10 day auctions. It was your choice.
Will I use 1 day auctions on ebay? no way. But if they gave me a choice I'd probably use the 8 & 9 day auctions a few times a week.
For the best night's sleep you've ever had...

Didn't they have them long ago?
