Date: 09/10/03 Time: 02:18:52 PM PDT

The ability to combine multiple purchases into a single payment is one of the most popular requests we receive from both buyers and sellers. Based on this input, we are pleased to announce a new combined payments feature, which will be introduced to the site in the next few weeks.
With the new combined payments feature:
Buyers will have the option of sending a single combined payment for multiple items purchased from a seller.
Sellers will have the option of sending a single combined invoice for multiple items purchased by a buyer.
Buyers
When you pay for your items, you will have the option of sending a single payment to your seller, no matter how many items you purchase from them! This makes the payment process faster and easier than ever, especially if you choose to pay through PayPal. When you enter the payment flow (for instance, by clicking the gray Pay Now button on a closed listing), you will automatically see all the items purchased from the same seller, and you can choose to pay for all of them at the same time.
Sellers
You will now be able to send a single invoice to your buyers for all of the items they have purchased from you. You will also have the ability to set automatic shipping discounts for buyers who purchase multiple items, giving them an incentive to buy more from you.
The combined payments feature will be available in the next several weeks. For more information and to preview this exciting new feature, please review the buyer and seller tutorial pages.
We hope that combined payments helps enhance your eBay buying and selling experience!

Shop with your favorite sellers and purchase your favorite items. When you initiate payment by clicking the "Pay Now" button, eBay will automatically determine if there are other items you have won or purchased from the seller. If there are, you can send combined payment for these purchases. Choose to send a combined payment for all these items, or pay for them individually.

Let's see, I have been doing combined payments for almost 6 years now. Of course, I have not been giving PayPal a cut, so I guess that it doesn't count.
It is nice that person to person trading has finally been reduced to "time-consuming email exchanges with your seller/buyer". They really have lost sight of what this entire market was originally built on - which would not grate nearly as much if Meg didn't still use the community BS in all of her spin to the investors.

I am sure that the sellers who currently do not do this will be pleased to see this. http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif
