Question
Won an auction on April 28, 2003. Trucked over to Kroger to purchase a money order (per sellers terms) and popped it in the mail.
On May 14th, item arrived. On the 15th of May, I left positive feedback.
On JUNE 14th, one entire MONTH after receiving item, I get a NEG for non-payment!! http://community.here.com/infopop/em...s/icon_mad.gif I email the seller, and two days later get an email from seller that payment was never received, that they hold onto each and every piece of paper (including envelopes) received, and that they had NO RECORD of my payment. (Said nothing about having or not having item still in their possession---they wholesale this stuff.)
Seller states if I send PROOF of my payment, that she'll PAY the $20 fee to have the neg removed from my feedback. (My first and only.)
Of course, by this time, and since I've already received the item, I no longer HAVE the stub. All this over a lousy $8.00 item! Wants me to truck around town, trying to get a copy of a $12.00 money order to send to her so I can have the neg removed. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...s/icon_mad.gif
Fast forward to today!
Different ID. Auction ends August 28th. Pay for it ON the 29th via PayPal (per sellers instructions.)
Item arrives on Friday, September 5th and I leave positive feedback that evening.
Email from seller this morning: "please advise the status of your payment for this item. I still haven't received it." http://community.here.com/infopop/em...n_confused.gif http://community.here.com/infopop/em...s/icon_mad.gif http://community.here.com/infopop/em...n_confused.gif (this is for a one-of-a-kind item, not a wholesale item)
So I email THIS seller back, stating that it was paid for with PayPal, that I have received item and that positive feedback has already been left for this transaction.
NEITHER seller is a newbie, nor are they "overloaded" with auctions.
WTF??????????????????????????????????????????????

Answer
That's crappy.
I have to admit I have been known to send a payment reminder once to someone that had paid. As soon as they told me so, I checked and sure enough they had. I apologized profusely, changed my system and haven't had it happen since. (hope I didn't just curse myself)
for myself, if these are buying IDs I wouldn't go to the trouble to do anything.
Sorry

I'd ask the first seller for an explanation as to why they sent the item if they didn't receive the payment!
Sorry you're having these problems, but I wouldn't worry over it much either, if on a buying ID.

LOL, you have my sympathy. This is why I don't neg NPBs. Don't trust myself not to screw that up.
Answer
I've done that before. But definitely apologized once I realized my mistake. And I have never left a neg for someone over it. I do have good records for the most part, so when they emailed back saying they did pay, it was fairly easy for me to confirm that.
Sorry this happened to you, its amazing to me sometimes how some of these people manage to sell/ship anything......

I also thought there was finally a call for a union type movement for Ebay sellers when I saw the thread title.

this is also a lesson to keep those stubs for proof of payment. One reason I prefer checks so the buyer can see when it was cashed. A safer paper trail.
Perhaps show the seller the feedback you've left for them.
Another thing they can do is go through their bank deposit slips and do a process of elimination. Tedious work.
That's what I would do (as a seller) and have done once.
I don't think a stub would help unless they keep track of the MO ID number. Maybe they've misplaced the MO and it was never cashed.
<klunk> -> knocking some sense into your seller's head.

WTF?????????????????????????????????????????????? <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
I have done this before. When I mark things paid and shipped in Auctionworks it doesn't "take" and still shows the items and unpaid for and not shipped. It has happened to often for my liking as I always an embarrassed and look disorganized also it makes for a teed off customer.
I apologize profusely and hope it won't turn them off of me as a seller.
