Question
I am so sorry to ask this again, but something about ebay's "checkout" that we DON't use has to have changed. I am not exagerating when I say that we are get 2-3 people a day that are "accidently" buying more of a fixed item than they meant to.
We have pulled most of our auctions down for the week so that we can regroup for the fall, so these numbers should not be like this. If we have to go to using the checkout, we will have to make sweeping changes.

Answer
I've not had it happen nearly as much as last year around Xmas. No recent increase. It used to happen all the time, I mean like ALL the time. Now, just every once in a while...

Answer
Yes, When I was running fixed auctions last month I had several. They seemed to be newbies trying to use checkout that I don't use.
My Ebay auctions
Answer
I've had 3 of these situations in just the past couple of months.
My understanding from what I've been told is its impatient buyers on dialup who aren't waiting for things to load re-submitting purchases a 2nd or even 3rd time. Don't know if that is true or not, just passing on what I've been told.
For me, this hasn't been an issue until the new item page rolled out, but I've been told its been occurring with fixed priced listings for awhile now.

Answer
Hi Sheila. I did this! I bought two of the same item and thought I hadn't purchased any.
We are on a dialup if that matters. I tried to do a BIN on a game for our son. I hit the button to buy and got a white screen with a message that something was all fouled up, try again later.
Hmmm... so I go back to the search function, look up this game and seller again, and try BIN once more. Nada. Same white screen with error message. I give up.
I'm checking MY EBAY later and see that I bought two of these games - each a different item number. Obviously the seller had more than one listed and when I went back to look him up, I found a different auction than the one I originally bid on.
But I was shocked to find that even though I got an error message, my bid went through - both times! I had to call the seller on the telephone to explain this one and he was kind enough to let me buy just one and send him the fees for the second so he could repost. Which I did promptly.
So, I do think there are some glitches out there. I haven't tried to buy anything since.

Answer
I haven't tried to purchase anything lately, but I can sure testify that eBay is slooow loading for dailup users, and getting worse.... It can take up to a full minute to refresh a page now. (yep, I've cleared everything, etc.)
There went any thoughts of sniping an item. Even search is so time consuming, it's hardly worth it. Can't wait for the next improvements, limited to two single item searches, per user, per day. http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif
