Question
I was on ebay and then went and checked my email and went back to ebay and the main page at the top is changed.
Why do they even mess with it? There was nothing wrong with it and they have other ebay issues to be working on that are a lot more important than moving the top line.
Answer
I haven't seen the home page in so long I have no idea what it looked like before. They also changed the "Items for Sale by ..." pages. I have a 17" monitor and have to scroll now in order to see the "Buy, Sell, My eBay, etc." stuff at the top of the page.
I agree, there are many other issues that need fixing, why mess with things that are working?!
Answer
why mess with things that are working?
Because buyers and sellers should always be stopped from getting comfortable with the site. Comfort leads to productivity, and productivity of course interferes with the Ebay's ability to constantly change the site
....(provided you ignore the bottom line of Ebay, it's stockholders, and sellers, this is a good thing)
Kevin (who finds the new orange search bar, on seller pages and most other pages, distracting - but thankfully at this stage it is not on current auctions although it is on completed auctions which will likely reduce people clicking on "View Sellers Other Auctions" )
Answer
I think the changes are not just distracting, but confusing. Not much is where it used to be. And I thought for a while that I had been sent to some bogus (phishing or worse) ebay home page.
When will they ever learn to not mess with what's working?
oh that's right, this is ebay, they won't ever learn that!
Answer
I'd like to slap the stupid little coder who changed the font size on many searches and seller's lists.
More proof that Ebay no longer hires the best and the brightest.
Someone please give Meg a boot in the butt on her way out.
Answer
Okay, either I am blind, or they eliminated the advanced search link at the top of the page.
Prior ot the "new" eBay pages, I always used the advanced search link, which was just under the search box at the top of the page. It is no longer there.
I used it a lot to look up buyers and sellers to see what they sell/bought/sold.
Now, where do you think I can find that feature now?
Geez, I hate change! It was so easy just to click on the little button from any eBay page.

It's still there, it's on that ugly distracting yellow bar And to think, this is what I've paid fees for during the past few weeks where the site was bogged down, giving errors or just not working and my sales have been virtually NOTHING!!!
Answer
Thanks for responding Renaissance, but I still don't see it.
Up on the yellow bar is the regular "search" box, but not the "advanced search" link where it took you to the page where you either put in an auction number, a sellers or bidders name, etc.
It's where you would go to look at sellers completed auction, or where you looked at what a buyer had bid on.
Oops, I see it afterall. For some reason it was not on the page I was currently viewing. Weird.
But I do see it now.

This is from "My Ebay" page, I'm not sure if it's on every page or not:

It's not there for me either. However, once you do an initial search, it's on the results page, to the right of the search box.
