For almost two years, eBay has been working on a new project to enhance our current reputation system. Feedback 2.0, which Bill Cobb announced at the eCommerce forum last January, adds a new dimension to eBay's premier online reputation system, allowing buyers to better rate and evaluate sellers on important aspects of a transaction. In the next few days, buyers in Australia, Belgium, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom will be able to rate sellers on the four Detailed Seller Ratings we announced as part of Feedback 2.0.
Feedback 2.0 adds these new features:
Detailed Seller Ratings – In addition to the current positive, negative or neutral comment, buyers rate their sellers on specific transaction aspects -- Item Description, Communication, Shipping time and Shipping & Handling Charges. Scores are based on a conventional 1 to 5 scale, with 1 being the lowest and 5 the being the highest rating. The average score for each rating is displayed on the seller's Feedback Profile page.
Item Title and Price – To give buyers more information while they are evaluating the reputation of a seller, the transaction's item title and selling price will display beneath each Feedback comment on the Feedback Profile page for 90 days.
Detailed Seller Ratings and the other changes included in Feedback 2.0 do not replace the current Feedback system, rather they augment it. This additional information will enable our best sellers to differentiate themselves from other sellers and enable buyers to make more informed decisions prior to purchasing.
US Launch Plans
Currently, the US is expecting to launch Feedback 2.0 sometime in late spring. I'll provide more updates as we get closer to launch. Also, I recently did an interview with eBay's Chatter Blog team about Feedback 2.0, which I hope you'll check out for even more information about this project. Congrats to Kevin who gets to be amoing the first guinea pigs for the latest englitchment from our "caring partners" in San Jose.

Answer
So, will MY buyers in those countries be able to rate ME with the new system, or just each other in the "beta" countries?
Just asking because I have several customers in those countries - should I expect to see a new and different world when I check my feedback?

Answer
Good Question!

Answer
I'll worry about it when I absolutely have to. But it seems to me eBay should focus on getting rid of lousy sellers/scammers, rather than making more work for buyers.

I have over 2000 positive feedback and no negative. Most of the complaints I get from customers are shipping times over seas, espicially to Ireland, the UK and Germany. My items clearly say shipping takes up to 13 business days, but as we all know, what you say is meaningless, becuase either people do not read what you write or eBay has gone and added estimated delivery times.
Once I get my first negative feedback, I am going to do just what my competitors do, down goes my item prices and up go my shipping charges, I will start to play the same game.
Ebay is doing everything it can to drive its' best sellers away and attact those that open and close new accounts on a regular basis.

I recently tried to check on the feedback of a buyer from Switzerland. Due to their privacy laws, ebay wouldn't let me... how would this change any of that?

Answer
Interesting, I could open a swiss eBay account, using my Swiss address and avoid public feedback, might be something to look into.
Ebay needs a new management team, but I think that will be too late. My guess is that Google is just counting time and when eBay gets to the level of really bad customer feelings, Google will roll out a full fledged solution to eBay. They are sure on the way.

Answer
I have not yet received ten feedbacks with the new rating system, as it won't show up until ten buyers have used it. (I was waiting but Packy started this thread before I got there)
However this is one high volume seller who has gotten enough feedback for it to kick in (the main difference is in the upper right) :

No stars for the same feedback when shown on the American site at this stage:

As far as I can see, someone can leave positive feedback comments, but flame your ratings and you have no way of knowing who did it.

I recently tried to check on the feedback of a buyer from Switzerland. Due to their privacy laws, ebay wouldn't let me... how would this change any of that? Feedback or bidding list? Several European countries don't allow you to see their bidding lists due to "privacy laws" (Germany and Austria included), but I have always been able to look at feedback for those countries, including Switzerland (so far). So far, I have even been able to follow the links to the auctions they had bought and received feedback for.
