How much do you learn at eBay Live?

Question
I'm thinking about going to eBay Live. I was wondering if it's more of a social event, or if there is helpful information in the seminars.
Thanks!

Answer
IMO, it's what you make of it.
It can be a major social event, a serious learing event, or a combo of both.
I've been to 2 Live's, Orlando & New Orleans.
I learned alot at the 1st one, NOT just from the seminars, but from the service vendore & talking to other ebayer's.
The 2nd one was more of a social event for me, I didn't attend any of the classes, but Did help with the DOUA booth on the solutions floor & socialized with the ebayer's. i learned on the 2nd trip, but not as much as the 1st one-BUT that was MY choosing.
It's what you make of it. You get a packet of materials, a CD of the classes (or you used to) and you can get tons of info from the solutions floor from the various vendors. Then you come home & put what you learned to work for you.
Unfortunately, Boston is out of my budget, so I won't make it this year. Hotels are just TOO expensive there to be worth it.

Answer
Thanks for the input. I was thinking it may be a total social event, and I woulndn't want to shell out the money for that, but if it's something that I can learn from, then I'll really try and go this year!

Answer
If you've been selling on eBay for awhile and making money at it, you probably won't learn much at Live. The fun part is all the neat convention toys and pins given away at the booths.

Answer
Las Vegas last year was too crowded to see the few seminars I wanted to. The closing gala was absolute madness and we couldn't get in. Ebay pinks were not interested in discussing meaningful questions. The schwag was a lot lighter. Luckily, we were surrounded by VEGAS. This year you'll just be surrounded by people who don't know how to properly say chowder or "park your car."

Answer
If it was free, okay. But admission charge, expensive hotels, air fare, you better off spending it on listing fees. Unless, of course, you need a vacation from eBay and want to write off a trip.
