Wahoo! Ebay ended my auction for me.

Question
Well, I should have known it was going to happen but I thought I would see if it would.

I have some leftovers from the Migomi days and listed a Penthouse 25th Anniversary Swimsuit DVD during the Pre-filled Listings sale last week.

I used the UPC code and, sure enough, Ebay had all the info, description and whatnot for me.

So I dumped it onto EBAY exactly as they had pre-filled it for me.

Sure enough, today (the ending day of the auction) I get the notice saying that the item has been pulled for being Mature Product.

Which it isn't but whatever. Normally I wouldn't even bother to argue with EBAY over this.

BUT IT WAS THEIR SYSTEM THAT PUT THE DVD ON THEIR SITE!

Now I'll spend a bit of the day harassing Ebay drones over the stupidity of their site. Should be fun.

FTR, yes, my old business partners consistently stalk my listings and regularly report my auctions to EBAY if there is even the slightest chance of getting the auction ended. So it is not surprising that a drone found the listing. Just annoying that they ended it with their own info in it.

sounds like a good hobby for the next week or so, keep me informed, I would love to hear their side of this fiasco

those spcifics should not have been in there in the first place.

Answer
That's pretty much how I feel about it Gabs.

Answer
the amusing thing is it is a swimsuit dvd making it at best pg14

what probably got it removed was one word

penthouse

if you could have kept that out you probably would have kept the auction

imho

Answer
Sure, you are likely right.

But the point is that I was using EBAY's system to fill in the description. If the item is not supposed to be on the main site then why are they allowing me to use their description and placement. They should have it directed to the correct place rather than shut it down.

I feel like being a pain in the ass to some Drones so I don't think I'll let this die easy. It's not like EBAY income means much to me anymore.

Answer
And here, finally, is their answer:

Thank you for taking the time to write eBay with your concerns. I'm
happy to help you further.
Our pre filled information system is only meant to be used as a guide.
It is still the sellers responsibility to make sure hat they know our
policies and that they abide by them.

Your item may be relisted in the mature audience section only. In order
to list in the Mature section you must pick the everything else > Mature
audiences category and then the sub category that fits your item. For
example a Playboy magazine would be listed in the following category:
Everything Else > Mature Audiences > Magazines > Playboy: 1980-Now.

You can locate the mature area site on eBay by going to the eBay
homepage. On the left hand side of the screen outlined in yellow is a
column titled categories. In that column click on the Everything Else
category. In the middle column there will be a link to the mature
audiences section.
Once you click on this link it will ask you to sign into ebay and to
agree to some terms that will be listed on the page following the sign
in page. Is it any wonder why I use EBAY less and less to sell stuff?
