Question
brace yourselves!
$8.50 ebay win, paid with paypal, shipped to a confirmed address, feedback left.
shortly there after a paypal investigation- unauthorized funds.
im like whatever, doesn't matter as it was shipped to a confirmed address
and usps d.c. shows delivered- so we're covered (so i thought).
WRONG! - Those fkers didn't care and reversed the payment.
WTF??
Answer
Is the "unauthorized funds" still under investigation?
If so, then those "reversed funds" are being held by PayPal until they determine if the funds were actually improperly used. If they find in your favor, the funds will be returned.
I'm still sitting here awaiting their determiniation of a $450 transaction with all the proof in the world on my side - nada from them.
Wanta trade?
Answer
They ended the "investigation" and stole my money.
Answer
Oh. Sorry.
I was under the impression that eBay sellers, who are elegible, are "protected" against unauthorized funds usage as long as they followed the "rules" - which is sounds like you did.
Have you been in contact with PayPal regarding WHY you got dinged instead of covered?
Answer
i contacted paypal and ebay (especially ebay since this buyer isn't naru'd)
Answer
I'd call. I hate reading about how people receive form emails as a response as though the support staff never read the defense.
Answer
That's so wrong man.
Answer
imosh,
Don't sweat it as, even if those weasels at PayPal won't protect you, the USPS Postal Inspectors will. You need to file a mail fraud complaint with them. They are well aware of the scams committed by buyers and sellers via PayPal. Doesn't matter if the sale amount is $8.50 or $450 they will treat every complaint as deserving investigation. Law enforcement know that most scammers start small and, if not caught and stopped, move on to bigger amounts and more numerous victims...
Answer
That really sucks! Ebay and paypal continue to make up the rules as they go along. They continue to act as a ruthless monopoly and eventually either real competition will go after them or the government will get them after public pressure. Maryanne
