Question
When I opened my PP account eons ago, I didn't HAVE to be "confirmed" it was optional.
I just added another bank account to PP, & they want me to become "verified" by confirming 2 small deposits they will be putting into the new account.
Question: Do I HAVE to become verified?
It says I can withdraw money right now, & I DID make a small transfer to see if it would go thru.
On my "old" bank account that I USUALLY deposit into I never did become confirmed (now verified) & when I make certian transactions it will ASK if I WANT to verify my account. I just say no & carry on, & it's never been a problem.
SO...any old PP folks who have recently added an account.......do I NEED to verify, or not? (I don't CARE about confirming/verifying as a "comfort" to someone else. This account is just going to be used to deposit PP money into so I can save for a cruise. The only way I can access the money is to go directly to the bank for removal as I have no checking or debit cards attached to this account. It's striclty for savings)
Will PP take away my birthday or not allow me to transfer funds to that account or what? Will they now REALLY want the old account verified too?
Any help appreciated!
TIA
Hazel
Answer
According to this page, it's a requirement for their Seller Protection Policy.
How do I qualify for the Seller Protection Policy?
In order for a transaction to be eligible for protection under the Seller Protection Policy, the transaction must be marked as SPP eligible and sellers must:
* Have a qualified Verified Business or Premier Account
* Ship to the confirmed address on the Transaction Details page
* Retain reasonable proof of postage that can be tracked online
* Require signature receipt on transactions equal to or more in value than $250.00 USD
ETA: If I'm understanding it correctly, it sounds like you don't HAVE to be verified, but you don't get Seller Protection. (Not that Seller Protection means a lot anyway!)
Answer
well, if that's the case, no big deal.
I just wanted to be able to do a few quick easy transfer into saving so I can pay for a cruise...........
I don't THINK I'll dissapoint myself if I'm NOT covered by seller's protection, LOL!
Answer
The PERSON is "Verified"
The ADDRESS is "Confirmed" (Address matches an address on CC or Bank Account given)
I couldn't get an exact meaning of the "Verified" because PP "Help" is not functioning right now.
