Question
With the new version 3.0, does anyone know how to bypass the address check? I have an address which is correct but the software cannot find a specific match. I was able to bypass the check in the old version of the software, but not the new.
Also, does the new version work with newer versions of Acrobat or only the old versions of Acrobat?
Answer
3.0 doesn't appear to use Adobe at all, that I can tell - it goes directly to the printer..
I don't have any advice on the first question, as that hasn't happened to me yet.

Don't think it uses Acrobat at all. What is not matching up, the city and zip for example, or how the actual street address is structured? Does it have an apartment number or space number or something like that? Seems I remember how to look up at USPS an address that was "different" in order to get the correct format but I'd have to have more specifics on the address to be able to try it. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks for the reply. I have it printing to an Adobe queue. Guess I need to test and see if there is no problem with newer versions of Adobe.
I was able to print out the label with the old version of shipping assistant. It is weird. The old version was able to verify the address. Not sure what I did differently.

It matched and found the address. However, it indicated that multiple addresses found and need more specifics. The address had a suite number. I tried different combinations of entering the suite number but it did not work. The old version of Shipping Assistant automatically translated the suite number correctly. Need to fool around with it later.

Question.....
does one have to uninstall the original assistant first ?
Or just download the newer version over it.
I sure don't want 2 of them on this machine

Neither one.
You just end up with two different programs on your computer.
And you can delete the old one later when you are no longer using it. (after Jan 31st)
(I'm glad I left the old one for now, because occasionally I can't figure out how to do what I need to do with the new one)
Answer
I can say this. I don't like the new one as opposed to the old one. You could like to the weight indicator on the old version just to get a label, then bring it to the P.O. for scan. Now it wants weight etc. Blah! Oh and I don't like the format as well. Resizing the screen is a PITA and the form to fill out is slower than the old one.

No problem. I have both on my machine. You can delete the old one either before or after you load the new one.
Answer
I have both on mine, I find it easier to use the old one to look up postage amounts for S/H quotes. I'll need to figure out how to do that in the 3.0 version before too long.
