I first noticed this last week, thought I was dreaming, but it was back on some ending auctions last night. The have added a Refresh tab to the auction page to the right of the current bid near your seller ID. Clicking that changes only the time left and (hopefully) the bid amount - no more refreshing the whole page.
I don't know at what point near the end that they add the tab but it makes it easier for a cheap thrill junkie like me to watch the price (again, hopefully)take off in the last few seconds.

Yes, the price changes, I watched a couple of mine get sniped today.
Just make sure that everything on the page has loaded before you use it, otherwise it can reload the whole lot (on my computer anyway).

I cannot find the Refresh Tab. There are 25 minutes left on the auction I'm watching. I'll keep watching to see when the Refresh Tab appears.
