This morning I went to add a tracking number to an item I shipped. After I entered all the information and clicked update, PayPal returned an error.
Last year right around this time PayPal broke the update shipping info (actually removed the update button for about 3 weeks.)
PayPal did an update last night and now I can not update shipping info. Anyone else having this problem? Hopefully it will not last long, but this sure does cause a headache for us when we have multiple people shipping from multiple locations and we can not tell if one of the others of us has already shipped the item.
Way to go PayPal... should I be surprised

Well, dang it! I've been trying to print a shippng label since 8:00am and keep getting the error message that the shipping service is not available.
I was hoping to get this package out today.

There is now a message on the eBay message board that shipping is not working from PayPal (for UPS and USPS.)
There is no estimated time to have it repaired.
There is now also a message in PayPal that they are doing maintenance tonight, maybe they are pushing back to the previous nights code when things worked.
Somehow PayPal never learns, every time they tinker with something they break other things. Fire them all and hire some people that can think in a logical way....

Me too. But I still use the "add tracking info" section as there are more then one of us shipping from more then one location and this way we can tell if the item has already been shipped by someone else in the group.
This is not the end of the world, thank God for Endicia, and then usps.gov and ups.com when I travel.
Still, it is nice to be able to update the info for both the seller and the customer. Those that rely on PayPal to ship will eventually learn that other providers are better or just put up with nonsense.

I'm a PS and I've used Paypal shipping for as long as it's been available. There have been minor glitches, but this is the first significant outage I've experienced. I used Endicia in the past and loved it and the top-notch customer support, however Paypal is quite a bit more cost-effective for me. I don't mind standing in line at the PO for my international packages-many times it's the only social life I have!
From what I understand reading the Paypal board, this was caused by upgrades to multiple order shipping last night. If all else fails they plan to rolback the upgrades tonight. Not sure why they don't just do it now and not cost people an entire shipping day. This is just my interpretation of what I read.

Just got worse. Can print labels now, however all my past tracking numbers are gone. You can click on a check status button, but then no info. If you go into item details, no shipping information. This seems to go back as far as I look. I added the tracking info to the new items I shipped today from Endicia. I wonder if they lost their entire database.
Also, now, all items that have paid via ebay express no longer show fees, just ... and other financial info is missing.
My guess is, we better be prepaired for PayPal to go down for a week at peak season again, as this is how it started last time.

This morning someone writes me. She says her package has not arrived and it should have. She wants to know why she used to be able to track it from PayPal and now can not. Did the package get returned? Was it really shipped?
This is an Intl package I posted from the post office and then entered the tracking info into PayPal. I no longer have a record of the tracking number as all of that info was updated into the shipping details field. If she files with PayPal, what do you think PayPal will say when I tell them it is their fault the tracking info was lost?
