Question
I was doing a google search for something and it led me to one of those portal pages that links back to eBay. I clicked the link, and wound up here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6585582405
This auction ended in December of last year. I changed some of the last 4 digits in the item number and came up with other stuff from that period still online, too.
Not really a big deal, just a curiosity...
Answer
Dunno, but some of my auctions from Dec are still up.
Auctions from June are gone.
Go figure.
Answer
It is strange. Sometimes a very old listing will show up in the Omniture stats as having been looked at and it just astonishes me that it's still around.
Answer
Over 2 years on this one:

Almost $195 for a pair of victorian milk glass cat salt & pepper shakers?
I see what you mean by the dates shown on the above link though. You'd think with the billions of items listed on ebay, that the site would have to flush the system to conserve server space.
Answer
I've got one from last year I'm waiting to leave feedback for. Wish the danged thing would disappear already
Answer
Have you done that before, MGC? Just curious what the response is from ebay if/when the recipient pitches a b!tch.

I think I"m missing something here... how can you leave feedback AFTER it has disappeared?
Answer
Trying to snipe in a neg? Trust me, it doesn't work.
Answer
I don't have the bookmark on this computer, but there's a way to post feedback after an item has dropped from the database. It's been discussed on here many times over the years. MGC or somebody else might have a link handy.
It doesn't require sniping, which isn't really possible anyway because it's impossible to know when an auction will get purged.
