Just who DOES know the answer?

Question
I had four auctions killed over the last few years - 2 were veros (neither SHOULD have been allowed to kill second hand books, but who am I to go against huge book publishers?). Then I accidentally marked a book as a teacher's ed (after the new rule) when the darn thing wasn't even a TE, and then a book on how to grow magic mushrooms (which I then promptly sold on Amazon). This last one triggered my Q.
This was my question:
I've had two book auctions shut down, this one, and one for being a
teacher's edition, which it wasn't and I protested.
I do protest that this book is drug paraphenelia, not that it makes any
difference at this point.
Over the life of my account, with 2 previous and unconnected veros, are
these closures cumulative in nature, am I due for some sort of warning
for loss of privileges? At what point will I have my account restricted?
Victoria The answer (in part)
With regard to your second concern about your account status and our enforcement guidelines, I am unable to disclose such information. So, until I hit the jackpot, they'll give me no clue as to just what it takes or how close I am. I'd ask the question about who there DOES have a clue, but I'm already in round three with them over my latest TKO, and my e-mails to them are getting testy.

Answer
Pick up the phone... screw 'em..

Answer
Jeez, ebay gets more like a Soviet legal system every day.
Kafka could get a lot of mileage out of them.
Just like ebay to put you on trial and not tell you what the charges are.
Anyway.
I've been selling for a while now, and about once/twice a year I get a auction cancelled for various reasons. Often times for BS and the auction gets re-instated.
So the same question accured to me.
Do I have any strikes against me because of the cancelled auctions?
I emailed and asked.
The reply was "no", no strikes, marks or whatever it is they use. I didn't get a "your file is secret" answer.
Does that mean it's true? One never know's do one?

Answer
Actually, my first thought was "double-secret probabtion".
So, because i was feeling snarky, I sent back an e-mail:
In regards to your: With regard to your second concern about your account status and our enforcement guidelines, I am unable to disclose such information.
Just who CAN disclose this information?

Answer
eBay's response:

I can not disclose this information

Answer
Actually, my first thought was "double-secret probabtion" Perhaps a dead horse in Meg's office or a gazzillion marbles in their parking lot would be appropriate then???

Answer
I'm game for marbles.

Answer
With regard to your second concern about your account status and our enforcement guidelines, I am unable to disclose such information. i.e. So long as you are in fear of your account status, you should be a good Ebayer.
Please stay within the rules, even the ones you have no way of knowing about.

As an aside, my belief (possibly wrong) is that such offences are only "cumulative" when the same offence is repeated. That said, it is up to the person reviewing the account whether four offences relating to books are "repeat offences" or if they are all different offences - thus you are at the whim of whoever is reviewing at any given moment. It's only your livelihood, so in the eyes of Ebay, what you are enquiring about is not important.
Cynically, Kevin
