Ebay Biz Slow?

Question
I had not sold since March/Aoril of this year, and I have to say, I am flabberghasted regarding how slow sales have been these first three weeks of selling. I know that it takes time for people to figure out that you are back, but over, all, sales are hideous--AND people are taking a lot longer to pay.

Answer
There's lots of buzz on the stores boards about this being the slowest September remembered by many... oh, with the exception of posting ID's whose sales continue to do better than most.
I must concur that this September is a bit off for us... both ebay and off ebay.
Cheers

Answer
slow on Ebay and slow on our serveral websites - We figured with gas coming down ( I paid $1.98 last night, here in Northern part of cincinnati ) people would have additional cash to spend on Ebay
Looks like we figured wrong.

Answer
Yard sales are crud and have been for months, my Amazon sales are down and my ebay sales are the worst I've had since I started. If I needed this money to live, I would be in a world of hurt.

Answer
Seems like we've heard the same lament for 5 years now in September. Or at least 2001 was the first year I NOTICED the slowdown - it was extreme that year for obvious reasons.
Personally September has always been slow for the stuff I sell, but the lull gives me a chance to catch up on bookwork, research, prepping stuff for the winter months, etc.

Answer
So are things normally much slower on Ebay in September? (I just started selling end of August, so I have no frame of reference). Things were going reasonably well, given my newness and relatively small inventory, but the last week or two, its been ghastly dead, page views are down, watches are down, bidding is definitely down. I'm probably lucky I sold a bolt of PFD fabric yesterday, otherwise, its probably been at least a week since the last sale. Good thing I didn't quit my day job!

Answer
Summer/vacation season is over. Back to work, back to school, licking wounds and cringing at the credit card bills from the summer, saving for the holiday season coming up. Lots of reasons why it slows a bit this time of year. Still though, I think it depends on what you sell as to how bad this seasonal trend treats you.
Gingertree! I just realized that "gingertree" (your website name?) and "Greentiger" (your ebay name?) both are made up of the exact same letters. There's a word for that I think. Is that deliberate??

Answer
Yes, it is! I think it is called an anagram.
It is ironic--before when I sold, I wasn;t so much worried about living on my selling, but helping others. Now I am living on my selling .... ouch!

Answer
With all this in mind, do you think the auction places like ebay will change anything? Lower prices? Likely not. With that in mind, more stores will decide to close. It appears that their searches are off again.
And their stocks dropped yesterday ... warning warning...

Answer
I've all but stopped selling on eBay, except for specialty-type stuff that probably wouldn't sell on smaller sites.
Have you considered listing some of your finished jewelry on OCM ... perhaps in several price ranges? I've had several folks shopping for Christmas gifts, so that might be a thought.
