I just had this question from a buyer.
Please tell me it's brand and number so I can figure out if anyone else has it cheaper than you.
WTF!!!
How would you respond? If you even would, which I don't think I can nicely.
Answer
I don't think I'd respond-my first response is what I'd probably send and that wouldn't earn me CS points.
I'd block them period though-wouldn't want the attitude if they received it, searched it on ebay and realized they could have gotten it cheaper.
Answer
Here's one:
Dear Buyer,-Jim
Sure, I'd be glad to! You may very well be able to find it cheaper as there's lots of scammers out there that undercut legitimate sellers to entice unsuspecting buyers. If you do decide to go with a lower price one, please be VERY careful as there may be a reason they are "selling" it cheaper that will cost you more in the end.
brand/number
Good Luck!
Answer
Very diplomatic and very true, Jim. Excellent. That's why I wouldn't send anything that was my first reaction
Answer
Actually, if it's a pattern, I'd just ignore them if I were you. They can find it themselves if they care that much.
Answer
Geez, it takes all kinds.
I'd send the pleasant note, omitting the brand and model. Or I'd not reply at all.
Answer
offer them free shipping and 25% off their winning bid total

Put 'em on the list FIRST, then send the offer...
Answer
Sorry from the title I thought this was a contest.
I'm sure given the chance I could do better.
Carry on.
PS I would simply answer the email, you just might be surprised. Of course thats after you've walked around the block a time or two.
Answer
Sorry, I must be missing something. I thought the point of frugality was to get the best deal possible.
In other words, it's unadulterated and unabashed self-interest. Your potential buyer was being frank.
Suddenly we're all surprised because people are shopping for the lowest price?
I don't know about model number but surely the brand name should be in the auction listing?
