Question
Is there somewhere to see the store numbers as to how many are open from one day to the next? Somewhere that the numbers make sense, not some convoluted chart that I have no idea how to read, please
Answer
http://listmystore.com/ebay_store_counts.htm
Answer
Doesn't look like any mass departures, unless I'm missing something.........
Answer
I was wondering how the bycott went in the UK.
Anyone hear about it?
Answer
Thanks. Doesn't seem to have p.o.'d a lot of people, does it, with an increase of 700 stores? Roll over, roll over. Unless ebay is opening stores itself to jiggle the numbers.
Will be interesting to see the counts tomorrow.
Answer
It's hard to say, I think a lot of the people partaking in the boycott didn't close stores but instead just didn't list?? If that's the case, then the store counts would stay the same but the item counts would have dropped.
It is funny, however, that the UK site is the only one to increase in store counts in the last month, while North America and Australia both dropped, and the UK is suppose to be the site putting up a resistance.
Answer
Hate to disappoint y'all, but that chart means nothing.
If they could show data from the last year, maybe. But the changes in the data they show are so small as to be meaningless. Even the top and bottom numbers (from 7/28 and 8/21, respectively) show a less than 1% decrease in Stores. That could simply be a routine fluctuation.
If there was the big teed-off we're-mad-as-hell footstomp so many people seem to be hoping for, the trend would be steadily downward from 7/28. But it's not. Some people are opening stores even as others are closing them.
And I would expect at least 10% of Stores to close, not less than 1%.
So, who are you hurting by closing your eBay Store? Apparently not eBay.
This is a non-event. Time to move on.

Really, the bigger issue IMO is how many listings come from those stores. Also I would guess that in a month is when you will start to see the number of stores dropping. Right now I still have listings from the "before" the increase listed. I am just ending them before they relist, make the most of my money that has been spent. In a month, the chart will not have mine to count.
Also a lot of people seem to be keeping the store open, but cutting back on the listings.
So, yes listings would be very interesting.
Answer
well, it's dropped a bit more, but as fluffy said...seems to be a non event.
Wonder if it achived the goal ebay was aiming for, or if we'll get to do this again in Jan/Feb?
Any body wanna bet stores basic price will go up? (I'm guessing 18.95-19.95)
Answer
May take a month to hit whatever low it's going to hit, as the listings at the old price slowly go away.
