Question
I am at a loss as to what is happening. I'm a little antiquated here ... Netscape 7.01. Windows 98. All day today, I cannot search on eBay. Sometimes I can get two or three searches, sometimes the first search does it, but I get the Netscape error that something bad happened and it must close now. If I immediately launch it again, it will freeze and lock up. I can surf all over the net, but eBay is out. I've booted my machine at least 20 times today.
I tried my Internet Explorer (ver. 6.0.2800.1106) and the same thing happened, but the program was much more polite and said it was so sorry it was shutting me down. Everything else works fine; I simply cannot search eBay.
Just for good measure, I cleared my cache, removed all cookies, and did a lovely defrag. I still cannot search eBay.
Any ideas?

Answer
Mango Man,
I will try those changes. I finally had the thought to have my husband check. He is on a new machine, newer browser, newer everything, and when he tried to search from IE, he crashed as well. Mozilla is his main browser and the search box in the upper-right corner of the eBay pages isn't even showing for him on Mozilla. I will try your work-arounds. I'm hoping this is a temporary eBay glitch.
Thank you for your response.

Answer
ebay kept freezing up on me earlier this evening. I'd have to close ebay down then go back again.
Maybe they are tweaking stuff getting ready for the increase on Monday.........
