ebay Keywords program going away?

Question
Saw this posted on several of the bead boards I go to. Guess someone wrote to ebay asking about keywords program, for something & this was the answer they got:
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the eBay keyword ads. I realize
the importance of the issue and I'll surely help you to resolve it.
Please understand that, in the next several months eBay will retire
eBay's Keyword program. We realize that sellers have wanted better
service and support than has been provided through our current eBay
Keywords program. Yahoo! will assume responsibility for all sponsored
search ads on eBay. eBay sellers who have purchased eBay Keywords will
have the ability to use Yahoo!'s self-serve automated tools to purchase
sponsored search ads.
As we get closer to retiring the eBay Keywords program, we will keep the
community informed via the General Announcement board.
Thank you for being a valuable member of the eBay community.

Anybody use key word ads? I tried them about 18 months ago, or so........didn't see any difference in the traffic I got. Decided it was a waste of money for me.

Answer
I was getting ready to start up again when this came around... Oh well...

Answer
That means we'll see even more ads for Mountain Dew and Monster dot com when we search for "antique sterling silver napkin ring", I would presume.

Answer
Is that the random ad under the ebay logo?
If so, I've noticed when I click on a seller ad, nothing happens.
When it's a commerical ad, the link works.
I emailed one seller and asked about it and they said they did not know the link wasn't working.

Answer

You can join thousands of other eBay sellers in using eBay Keywords to send buyers to your Stores and listings - and increase sales as a result! It will be our pleasure to help you every step of the way. If you need assistance in setting up your first eBay Keywords campaign, please feel free to contact us via eBay Keywords Customer Support.
Through eBay Keywords, eBay Sellers can place advertisements for their eBay Store or product above the usual eBay listings in the form of a text box or banner ad. The auction-based, pay-per-click system enables eBay Sellers to decide how much they are willing to pay-per-click per keyword, and allows eBay Sellers to see what other eBay Sellers are currently bidding on the same keywords. Additionally, eBay Keywords offers experienced service and account support for any questions or concerns that may arise.
Some of the highlights of the eBay Keywords program are:
1. Drive qualified buyers to your listings or eBay Store
2. Pay as little as $.10 when a buyer clicks on your ad. If there are no clicks, your ad is free!
3. Rise above all the other sellers on the same page.

We look forward to providing you with the most effective advertising available on eBay!
Sincerely,
eBay Keywords Team And, I was going to wait until the first of the month.
