Answer
The ending of the 20-cent specials is making it show a bigger drop because there was a bigger listing upturn last week. Will be interesting to see what happens now on a "normal" week.
Answer
Agreed, I'll watch how the stock starts out on Monday this coming week too. I'd imagine if store owners get it to the media the trend will continue as bad press for eBay. (Of course I'm saddened.. )
Answer
How does the site determine which sites to include in the chart?

Yes, but everything is down. It's the middle of summer right?
While I do think ebay is on a downward trend, July is not really the month to gauge it.
Answer
Mysteriouscutie I don't know how they select. You may be able to find it on the site. But here's one they missed.
Amazon.com 2Q Profit Drops 58% (Jul. 26)
Amazon.com Inc. said second-quarter earnings plunged nearly 58% as the on-line retailer focused on giving customers cheap or free shipping deals and spending to develop new technologies. The company also sliced its profit outlook for 2006. Investor reaction was swift, with a 12% drop in Amazon's share price in late trade Tuesday. Despite the drop in income, sales rose 22%, which the company attributed to its focus on providing customers with things they want.
Amazon said its investment in such features as free shipping and a new toy store is the right strategy for long-term growth and customer loyalty. The company said it planned to invest heavily in its new toy strategy and will cut prices on many products to continue to attract customers and build loyalty.

This time of year listings drop normaly, hence the low listing promotion to get them up. Its nothing unusal, but with the droping of stock some will take it as a sighn.

At the time of viewing tonight Fri. ebay was down 10% while all others were up 100%
I thought that was interesting.
Answer
On the matter of the listings drop, almost 1/2 million of the drop can be attributed to one seller. Casacaiman had nearly 500,000 items in their eBay store last month. They only had 840 items listed today. About 200,000 of those listings likely moved to Amazon because their Amazon zShop (caiman_com) now has 2.3 Million (yes million) listings compared to 2.1 million last month. The other 300,000 listings were likely moved to Half.com
