More Click Fraud - Yahoo implicated this time

Question
Yahoo Implicated In Spyware Click Fraud
I have heard of "clubs" where club members just click on x amount of high dollar keywords every day, not to have one person doing all the clicking for that day - then repeat it day after day - that amounts to a lot of extra funds for Google and the partner site There is some really, really high dollar keywords out there and I expect more lawsuits over click fraud.
We finally had to take our Google keywords off of other folks web sites and use them just on Google, as we couldn't prove fraud, but we knew in our hearts, there was.
Be careful out there

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060405/...NlYwN5bmNhdA-- This story on Yahoo today about Spitzer and how he hammered a spyware company recently. Kind of an oxymoron by Yahoo.

Answer
I read the article but I don't understand how someone is defrauded. How does this scam work?

Answer
I don't quite understand it either. I think that Yahoo charges advertisers when a link is clicked on. Then, Yahoo pays a portion of that money to the people who placed the link on the page, or drove traffic to the link. So, the people involved are the people getting paid by Yahoo, be making it look like they were getting people to click the link when it was just really a piece of spyware mimicing clicks. So, the advertisers paying Yahoo are getting ripped off by paying for clicks that didn't really lead to any page views.
