How long should sellers get?

Question
I bought some items saturday, and have been waiting impatiently to pay for them.
I am waiting on the combined shipping cost for the three items.
I sent the email through paypal asking for an invoice. When I got nothing by monday, I sent an ask the seller email asking for a total.
Tuesday still nothing.
Now I'm getting a little ticked. Is that unfair?
I didn't count on an answer on the weekend, I had figured on an answer monday. I thought for sure I would get one by tuesday.

Answer
Aren't the rules you must respond within 3 days of winning/purchasing? Is there anything in their auction/listing that might reflect a delay in invoicing?
Edited to add: On the other hand perhaps they're having computer problems. Although when I did, a couple of years back when a virus zapped mine, I made it to the local library and used their computers there to conduct business. A total PITA, but there wasn't a bump in the road, and once the tech came out and got it working again nobody was the wiser.

Answer
Ebay used to recommend 3 business days.
Course, since 99.4% feedback is bad now,
perhaps 3 business HOURS is more like it.
ha ha a joke ha....h..
I shoot for 24 hours.

Answer
It's possible your emails aren't getting through to them or theirs to you (not everyone does ebay invoices; they may just be emailing you combined shipping).
I tend to be patient with buyers. The only downside is that means since I'm not hounding them with lots of emails if I don't get their emails they sometimes think I'm ignoring them. I can easily see one of our buyers posting a note like this on a bulletin board somewhere.
It's also possible they are gone for a few days or just tied up. Does it look like they sell a lot? Can you tell?
I had someone buy and pay for something last thursday and got a shocked response when I let them know it would be shipped monday. Geesh, that's 2 business days by my world view.

Answer
I think I know why it took so long.
Just received an email saying I can't have one of the three items I bought because its on hold for someone else.
I'm not sure I understand how something I bought and am willing to pay for right now could be on hold for someone else.

Answer
Oh no, that would be a deal breaker for me.
All or none buddy.
Not MY fault you are out of stock or
not happy with the sale price.

Seems like to me that the seller sells the same items at various sites and you and the other person must have negotiated the buying at the same time on different sites.
I agree with larruone. That's certainly a deal breaker.

Answer
Non-performing seller report. And since you bought them at the same time, I'd not buy the other 2. THEY broke the contract-you bought them contingent on combining ALL of them for shipping.

Answer
Definitely a deal breaker, they were probably holding off to see if they would get a better price elsewhere, and apparently they did.
Of course, eBay will do nothing to them.

Answer
I'd file non-selling seller and refuse all the items based upon the combined shipping arrangement being violated as well. Seller broke the deal by selling the item I already bought to another person via another venue. eMail eBay support forwarding that email saying the item was sold to someone else after you won it and that the other two sales were contingent upon the combined shipping and thus they are void too. I'd point out that since the agreement for combined shipping was not honored, and the sale for one item was not being honored, that you expect the seller to dishonor the other two sales as well once paid.
Item might have been sold to an emailed offer outside eBay, via another online site via multiple ads for the same item, via a local shop, or who knows...
I'd think listing the same item on multiple sites concurrently is a violation of policy. I'd also think selling the item outside of eBay once the sale is completed is another violation.
I think anytime we have a situation where one party apparently avoided eBay's fees, we're more likely to win the conflict.
