<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> ***eBay Motors: Car & Truck Parts Finder Feature Removal***
Date: 12/23/03 Time: 01:58:33 PM PST

Over the last few months, we have solicited Community feedback from both eBay Motors buyers and sellers on the efficiency of our Parts Finder feature, for the Car and Truck Parts & Accessories categories, which was launched in March 2003. Feedback from the Community has indicated that this feature does not meet their needs in terms of its efficiency and effectiveness. This has also been corroborated by low adoption rates on the site. For these reasons, eBay has decided to retire the Car & Truck Parts Finder Feature at the end of this month.
Members who buy and sell in the eBay Motors Car & Truck Parts and Accessories categories can continue to achieve optimum results using Search and listing techniques. Buyers can use Advanced Search, matching categories in Search, and Saved Search. Sellers can continue to list in specific categories, and provide detailed listing information that includes make, model and year(s) of fitment for related vehicles for the part or accessory that is being sold.
For more information, parts buying and selling Best Practices are outlined in the Motors “How-to” Center:
http://pages.ebay.com/ebaymotors/howto/overview.html
http://pages.ebay.com/ebaymotors/how...s-selling.html
http://pages.ebay.com/ebaymotors/how...s-finding.html
Over the next several months, we will be exploring new ways to create an even more robust environment for buyers and sellers in the Car and Truck Parts & Accessories categories.
Regards,
eBay

Answer
No this has not been popular in my opinion.
First off, it only applies to certain catagories (which I NEVER list in). I don't think there is a way to use third party software. But the biggest reason in my opinion is that the applications are far from complete or accurate.
So, lets see, you have to list by hand, in certain catagories, AND it does not give full information. Would you use it???
I have tried searching with it, and just laughed, and never gave it a second try or a second look at using. Maybe a BAD ME. So my info may not be totally correct.

Answer
you are always bad...
but the point....I think is..... eBay is willing to back up on some of their new fangled revisions.
now if we could just get people to quit using that stupid item specifics thing, we could get that rolled backwards

Another "feature" I BRIEFLY looked at, and said Hrumph. Does not appear to be in my catagories either. So I have not had any exprerience with it. Ebay should kill it (insert slaying type icon here) from what I see and hear.
It would be nice if Ebay would just get the darn (family type word inserted instead of what I REALLY thought http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif) site working and forget about the fluff. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif
