Question
I received an e-mail this morning not about eBay item , but my profile or so.
Apparently the guy speaks in african / nigerian way of english like most scammers do wanted to know my identity and asking me to click on a link.
The weird and disgusting thing is he makes it sound as if I'm looking for a gay partner -_-
Answer
I once a long time ago received an email question asking how big my head was! I thought it was a really weird and stalking type question, until I realized I had a hat up for auction and had stated in the auction that it was kinda tight on me!
Can you share the contents of the email?

This is getting crazy... I have received THREE PayPal scam emails in the past couple of days... I feel bad for any newbies out there that may not know how to tell the difference... Maybe we should make a seperate thread telling newbies what to look for... There have been a few newbies on the board in the past week...

Are you kidding me? I get so many everyday (with some new ones thrown in) that the first thing I do when checking all my emails is to delete the eBay and Paypal scams from my bulk folder before going to my inbox. And lately a few of them have been getting through the spam filter and winding up in there, too.
I wonder that the scammers keep trying, every day and every day. 95% of them are so obviously phishing emails that I wouldn't think anyone would be caught by them. But, hey, my brother almost did get caught not too long ago. He clicked on a link and was taken to a sign in page. He entered a phoney password, but I told him to never, ever click on any link in a Paypal or eBay email till he knows for sure it's from them.
For the newbies, the main thing to remember is that eBay and Paypal will ALWAYS address you by your given name. Not your email address, not Dear Paypal Customer, not nuthin but your real name.

I actually received a legitimate PayPal email in my spam folder today! I guess it's pretty hard for the spam program to actually figure out the "rules" for PayPal and eBay spam!
