eBay Certificate Awards - do you print and frame?

Question

I just turned into a Shooting Yellow Star. Have any of you printed out your award levels and framed them? Its kind of hard to get recognition for what we do other than the income we make and the lifestyle(s) we can live. Maybe that's enough?

Answer
LOL, didn't know they existed.
But, no, I don't think I would frame them.
I DID Frame my $8 camera auction that ended at $1200.00

Answer
I printed the apology that ebay sent after cancelling an auction of mine wrongly (then reinstated said auction), but I haven't framed it.
When I got my 1st star ebay sent me a certificate I've got SOMEWHERE-obviously-it's not framed or I'd know where it is........

Answer
One of the benefits of being the Empress of All I Survey is that I can devise any award for myself that I d*mn well please.
I have an annual Genius in Cost-Cutting Award, which consists of a spa/beauty salon gift certificate, the amount of which is determined by how much money moi managed to shave off the usual expenses by finding a cheaper supplier or devising new methods of doing things.
Barbara Winter in her book _Making a Living Without A Job_ suggests thinking of your command center (i.e. your home) as World Headquarters. She even had a brass plaque made up for her front door.
But mainly being self-employed means that you can no longer look outside yourself for validation or praise. You already do everything else; you'll have to do that too.
Good luck,

Answer
Like they said above, if you want to print it out and frame it, go for it!
Will it make you feel great every time you look at it? Will it inspire you to keep on keeping on? If so, go for it.
If it won't work that way for you, don't.
Anyhow, congratulations!

Answer
I'd print it out, just for the heck of it. It's something to remember, and show off down the road. Maybe hwen your business becomes a multi-billion dollar corporation it'll mean even more to you. Congrats !

Answer
They use to send them out for powersellers --- I think I remember them doing it when you made certain landmark stars. But that was a very VERY long time ago.
Recognition from them really doesn't mean too much. They're an anonomyous entity who's never met me, never worked with me, or anything. All that cert says is "thanks for all the $$ you've spent with us". It's not like recognitions/awards from co-workers, and people you've actually interacted with w/in a company. To me, there's a huge difference and one means a lot more than the other.

Answer
Congratulations on making a Shooting Star!

It is nice to get recognized by eBay even if the signatures on my certificates are not real, and their design rather plain and boring. But marketing and sales promotion has never been their strong suit, has it. That's why they have us sellers to liven up the place.
I also have some pins and pens they have sent me over the years. I never framed any of their "awards".
I have just three award plaques on the wall, behind a door I always leave open so nobody can see them except me, when I am cleaning.
They do have special meaning, and bring a warm feeling. The awards were for voluntary things I did when I was too "busy" with work to really spare the time, but I did. And that is why they mean so much to me.
At the end of life, nobody has ever slapped their head and said: "I should have worked harder!"

Go for it they look pretty on the walls of your office or computer room. I printed my Power seller certificate. LOL only kept that status for 3 months since it was around Christmas and I had found a good seller for 2 months. I now sell just a few things monthly of no big money so it is fun to look at my certificate to say I at least made it once. OH WELL, I kept the certificate for the star award I got but didn't print it or did I. know I didn't frame it.
Heck I even printed my birth certificate for my new Dell computer and framed that. Now I am really needing it bad to have done that. LOL But it was so cute...
It is all up to you but they are nice to look at and for a bit think you are a "Big Wig" and all that stuff.
I agree with Fluff lets just make our own awards and make them outstanding in looks presentation etc .
