Well, besides the crappy grammar, is there anything productive taught there? Do you just show up? It sounds interesting, but I'm not one for Pep rallies... ofcourse if there's something valuable to be learned I'll swallow my pride.
Answer
That's what it is. The best thing is meeting others outside ebay-as in people on this board or another group you hang with online.

Las Vegas in June.
Brilliant.
I often wonder about the people who schedule events like this. Have they ever actually BEEN to the place at that time of year? The last non-eBay trade event I wanted to go to was scheduled for Anaheim in June 2005 at precisely the same time as Disneyland's huge week-long celebration. They were expecting more people at the park than ever before. Traffic? Nightmarish. Odds of getting on more than two rides in eight hours? Slim.
I'm not insane. I stayed home.
eBay Live? I don't get it. Shouldn't it be on the East Coast this go-round? And if they had to have it on the left coast, why not Los Angeles, which has a huge convention center and public transportation?
Last year's EL in San Jose seemed very lightly attended to me, both days I was there.

Answer
When I went to EL in New Orleans I got the chance to talk to some of the ebay folks.
They said the reason they pick the places they do has to do with the space available & cost. June is the "traditional" time for EL. This years choice of LV, & mid wekk had to do with prices. Mid week prices are cheaper than weekend prices.
As of the time that discussion was had (2004) they said future EL's were going to be permanentaly in San Jose, where this past years was. Reason was: to do EL out of town they have to book so many rooms for Ebay employees who have to do EL they take up a large percentage of the available rooms for the sellers & buyers who attend EL. (My guess wasn't that they weren't so concerened with US as with the bottom line).
I don't know if the move to LV this year is a sign that idea (permanant location) didn't go over well or what........I never saw or heard attendance figures from EL 2005 so I don't know how it went.
As I told the ebay folks when i was talking to them, seems only fair to move it around the US, so more folks would have a chance to go. I attended EL 2003 & 2004 & enjoyed both-but both were drivable for me.
I'd LIKE to attend EL this year.......but don't know IF I can afford it. Flight + hotel may be more than my budget can afford....and I'm not driving from SC to NV.
As far as how I handle the bidders while I'm gone?
I have a vacation page I activate in my ebay store, & I have it show up as one of the clickable links in the auction header. Usually says something like: Shipping June 11-17th. Then on the page I just explain that I'm at EL & I'll ship packages when I return.
EL has banks of computers available for you to use at EL, so you can keep up with your stuff while EL is actually going on.
I enjoyed the 2 I attended, moreso for the exhibits & to talk to other ebayers.
Answer
I think I will go.
But first, I'll have t-shirts and a tote bag made up bearing this picture:

We're going. This will likely be the ONLY time in the history of the world that I can write off a trip to Las Vegas! Now if I could just figure out how to write off the gambling losses. lol
Answer
We will be there exhibiting with Endicia as we have for all the past eBay Lives.
We hope to see you there! It is a great time for vendors to get feedback and visit with clients face to face. If you go make sure to stop by our booth as we will have a special giveaway this year.

Ah so you don't really learn anything too good as long as you ahve a good biz sense.
So this Convention is all about meeting other sellers from this board and the PS board? That sounds nice .
I just need more info since I cannot just spill over $1000 for this trip if it's not going to worth it.
