Question
OK we've been using sellathon2 for a while now and I have learned alot that is specific to my area - NWT clothing and linens mostly.
Now I am wondering if I can justify the cost for ongoing auctions. (after the trial is over)
I'll admit it is fun to watch but the hit counter isn't exactly accurate. (if someone bids you get at least 3 hits from that one person).
It has helped to see that the cross promotional thing from ebay really is being used, but now that I know that, I don't really need to keep seeing it over and over.
While knowing that someone has a snipe in place is a great relief, it doesn't actually change anything for me cause I always let auctions run thier course.
The one BIG thing that I was able to do - I saw that something was being picked up in title and description searches several times. When the item ended with no bids, I relisted with the key word that was missing from my title in there and the item was bin'd within hours.
Do others have thoughts on this, or are you getting some information that I might have missed.
Trying to weigh the benefits vs. cost - every little bit takes away from my bottom line.

Answer
You failed to factor time spent on this tool. How much value was lost there?
Problem with research tools is they are great if you are selling hundreds of the same or similar items. Then it makes sense to spend the time. But, to sell one or a few of something, I just let eBay take its course.
Answer
Do yall know if they are monitoring their trial periods? Mine ended and now I can't log in, but they haven't sent me anything about buying it or anything.
It's been very useful so far, but the time factor is an issue, it's really very time-consuming to search through. We get a lot of hits from people viewing our other items and we have a lot of regular customers. Since we mainly sell certain types of things, I am most interested in how new people are getting there, and it's a bit difficult to find them since it's hit or miss.
I wish there was a way the tool could tell whether a visitor was a new one for the seller, whether they had already bought etc... I know it's a bit much to hope for, but that would help me identify the new buyers and see where they came from, which is my main concern.

I subscribed under the $89 plan yesterday. I'm trying to make use of the search words and I've been successful in using better keywords on the relist for a few auctions, resulting in a few sales.
I also hope to make use of some of the search strings on my future buying trips.
So far, I think I'm getting a lot of insight out of it and it can be kind of hard to put that into words. A year from now, I'll have to see if I still feel the same way. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif

I plan to subscribe when my trial is over.
For me, it is most useful for determining if I am getting traffic, but no smiley faces (means that my price is too high.)
Then, I can revise price down while it is running, and hopefully sell it the first time around.
Also, the snipe alert is very reassuring!

I've noticed that VT is not always accurate. Sometimes it fails to register bids. I know when a particular bid was made by researching bid history...but sometimes VT just doesn't have it. Kind of makes me question the other stats that I can't check.

Answer
toke,
Just wanted to let you know that was a very temporary thing. It's fixed now. eBay is constantly changing it's site, and we always scramble to keep up.
BTW, it's probably more efficient if you'd post issues or questions on our board. We monitor our board constantly and are trying to break a world record for fastest response time. ;-)
