Sellathon Launches Analytics Tool for eBay Sellers

Sellathon Corporation launched a new tool that allows eBay sellers to conduct in-depth visitor analysis. ViewTracker is a tracking device for eBay auctions that allows eBay sellers to see in real-time when visitors arrive, the words they searched for to find the listing, which categories they searched in and how they sorted the results. The tool also allows sellers to see visitors' personal search preferences, whether they placed a bid or not, if they're watching the auction from their "My eBay" page and where they live.
"Sellers, who increasingly rely on eBay for their livelihood, are going to demand the data they need to make proper marketing decisions, not just the number of visitors they've received," said Sellathon CEO Wayne Yeager.
Yeager said Web site owners have had access to visitor data for years, and there's an entire industry built around optimizing Web sites based on it. But without access to visitor data, eBay sellers have been left to guess the best way to reach their audience. Yeager said he hopes to bring that era to an end.
Sellathon is offering a free introductory trial of ViewTracker.

Answer
Yes, I downloaded the free trial and like it, but the price is kinda steep if you use it on more than 25 auctions.
And it has to renewed every year. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif

How can they know how one finds an auction?
Answer
I don't know commentary though if I can ever get some auctions revised to add the code for this I'm going to try their free trial. ebay just won't stop hiccuping this morning,

well, I have managed to get SOME of my items with this code in them around ebays glitchiness. and have one visit so I looked at what you see on your stat page. It has a column for most active times, ways visitors found this auction (in the case of this one visit I've had so far, lol, it was Searching: All Ebay.
It then has a column for searches used to find this auction and the search string they typed in. Then a titles / Descriptions column and in this case the person clicked to search both titles AND descriptions and then there is a column for most common sorts and in this case they had sorted by ending first. It also had the ip address of the visitor and you could click to look up their geographical information.
Interesting, I can see using it if it looks like it will pay the $100 plus a year. Course, I'd buy deep analysis for 179 if I had broadband!

Answer
well just had another visitor and the search string they used to find my auction I would have probably never thought of in a million years, good thing I had it in my description.

Answer
well, I like it enough to buy the advanced version, as you can only view 25 at a time with the basic,($49) You can view up to 250 with the advanced ($89) and unlimited for $199 (ouch)
I am a stats person and like that it tells you the search words used to find it, and how they searched and the way they search ie: auctions, buyitnow, and newly listed, ending, etc........
it is a very cool tool!!!
just wish it was cheaper http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif
BTW, I was able to upload the script to all my auctions (80+) in under 2 minutes with my sapro (man I love that software!) http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif

janet (insert thumbing nose at you icon here!).
My biggest problem still is being on dialup http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif
Wonder how long it will be until ebay starts offering this type of service? They are awfully good at running an existing idea but they really do seem to be downright stupid sometimes about the accessory services they could make money off of. I wondered for years why they didn't offer counters, picture services, auction management services. Not that I use any of these http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif since they still can't keep they blanking site up and running (as I go see if they have the glitches worked out today yet),

Answer
janet, you'll be pushing that 250 limit though won't you?
Mel-
Answer
on one item it says way visitors found this locaction: direct link. what does that mean, exactly?
Mel-
oops nevermind, it says that happens when:
1. Visitor visits auction from My Ebay page
2. Visitor saves auction in Favorites folder
3. Visitor receives auction link in mail
4. ebay notifies visitor item is for sale
I'm not sure what that 4th means other than the merchandising tool?
