For bidders who don't know, it's xmas..

Question
Just a little reminder.
It seems some buyers are unaware that it is the holiday season and that maybe, just maybe, mail might be slowed down a bit.
Or even worse, I'm not sitting at the 'puter 24/7 to respond to emails OR I might take a day or two to get to the PO.
You see, ebay sellers, it's actually pretty selfish not to have the item packed and be running out the door the SECOND payment arrives.
So if you were thinking of visting family, going to a holiday party or two, or maybe your street is snowed in, please understand that these are luxuries for the lazy and EBAY RIP OFF ARTISTS!
I've had 3 emails this week from winning bidders wanting to know where they're merch was. Not unusual, but all 3 came within 10 days of EOA.
One guy even emailed me from Paris "wheres my stuff!".
I guess the thought of an item not being in his hand from 1/2 around the world in less than 10 days is crazy.
So, like I said, just a little reminder.

Answer
Stuck in NYC; that's where my packages are. I have one package going to the Bronx and one to Brooklyn. I keep checking the Delivery Confirmation and they haven't showed. But, my items going have arrived.
I put my eBay Store on Vacation so that I could have a few days off, and my last auctions end tonight.

Answer
Buyers were just plain psychotic last year in the week leading up to Christmas. That's why I put our store on vacation on the 15th and let all auctions end without relisting. I just don't need the headaches. Maryanne

Answer
It's worse out in "Internet-World".
I have guys calling my house after hours (after 6PM), who waited until the 21st to begin shopping for their wives, begging me to make a run with their package to FedEx - bribes, etc. (I don't ship FedEx, or UPS - only Priority Mail.)
Hey folks, I've got a family to shop for, too.
Postal runs ended yesterday afternoon - last possible moment for Priority.
I'm "done" until January 2.
I've still got the books to finish up, the year to close out, inventory, etc.
God only gave me 24 hours in a day, too.

Answer
begging me to make a run with their package to FedEx - bribes,
Take the bribes, pay someone else to do all that work for you and just enjoy the Holidays ahead with your family..

Don't have anyone else to do it, though, even if I paid.
But good thinking!

Answer
I have people saying where's my item it's been 2 weeks and when I checked it's been 4 days only.
I'm pretty much trying to ignore a lot of emails or I'll go crazy.
You are lucky you got 3 e-mails. I probably got around 40+

Answer
I can remember telling quite a few people that the items they paid for Christmas week, and had mailed surface rate. Will make swell Valentines Day presents.
For some reason they didn't appreciate my sense of humour at all.
My all time favourite is still an email I received from a lady who bought a USED video for 99 cents.
She was mad that this USED video, looked used. Go figure. She wouldn't be able to give it as a Christmas gift now.

Answer
I woke up to this little tidbit, included in a payment I received at 3:15 am today:

Note:Please send ASAP! My 7 yr old son asked me to buy this for his 10 yr old sister today to give her as a Christmas present. I told him I would ask you to send it right away! Thanks!! God bless and Merry Christmas!!

Since they paid for 1st class shipping, I wrote and suggested they upgrade to Priority, if they want a chance of it arriving before Christmas or Express, if they'd like it to actually BE there.
Didn't hear back, so it'll go out 1st class today.

Answer
With all due respect to ya'll, if ya set up for Christmas sales, you've gotta be ready to get the stuff out the door at to the PO, UPS, FedEx, etc asap....It's the nature of the beast this time of year....YES, it will eat up your time and you'll be running around like a nut tryin' to get everything done, but it's part of the choice you made to sell thru Christmas....
The "big boys(and gals)" (eg. large store websites and some eBay sellers) are pushing overnight deliveries (in some cases even offering FREE bumped up shipping from Standard to Express)....THAT"S the competition and if you wanna win in the that game you have to compete...
Of course expecting immediate delivery, especially when paying for 1st class is over the top, but it's gonna happen more so at this "holiday" time.....
