Question
What is the general feeling, will ebay increase fees in 2006? And if so, which ones and by what %?
Would you support an auction duration change fee that increases with each change?
How about a frequent auction ending fee, for sellers that end many auctions listing before the auction runs in course?
Answer
I see a fee increase, not sure how much-depends on how high they want to shove that crowbar
Answer
Ebay better think about lowering their fees real soon since the stores have become extremely expensive and hardly worth the work, and payments to ebay and paypal and then add in the expenses associated with doing business as their slave.
Answer
you really think that's going to happen?
When hell freezes.
Man, I think they have pretty much raised everything they can , for the exception of the duration of auctions
It's ridicilous how the stores are more $$ and yet I only sell 1% off it. maybe even less.
Answer
Well, Hell it's getting cold where I am!
But, take a look at your store sales and do the math. Ebay is winning hands down and there's no reason to be paying as much without annual discounts or discounts based on sales. The spikes in sales are just not worth carrying the stores. I'll be looking at Yahoo again this week for more options.
Answer
hehehe, it's around -3 where I am =)
yahoo auction huh.
about raising prices, I don't think eBay has any other sure way to "grow" and stay big, but raise prices on us.
They just hope that people get use to the changes coz they are the largest merket place.
Answer
GTC Fee of at least $.01/month/item ... You don't really think that that empty space on your stores invoice isn't there for a reason, do you???
You heard it here first on here!
Well, with the exception of the basic 7-day auction, they've raised prices on just about everything every year... there's more auctions this year than last... so I would bet another auction based increase is coming, as well.
Leave it to eBay's corporate execs... eBay WILL become just another huge retail establishment.
Cheers
Answer
Hell yes eBay will raise their fees. Even if they know they're losing sellers it's all about profits. 200 sellers paying 1 dollar is worse than 120 paying 2. High priced auction sites are doing exceptionally well when low priced ones aren't... from what I've seen. Propertyroom.com and Ubid.com are the area where I think eBay's headed.
Answer
Sorry what's GTC mean?
Answer
Good till Cancelled.
Yep, ebay will raise its fees. Where and how much remains to be seen.
They're coming close to the amount I pay for my B&M so I will become much more selective as to what I list.
