Question
For about the last week? when I try to relist or list a similar item I can no longer see the descriprion. I have to click a link that takes me to the HTML version only of my auction (It says "If you can't see your description click this link to use the alternitive" or something reasonably close to that phrase)
Did I miss some change ebay made, or something I need to do?
Hope this makes some sense...can't think how else to describe it.........
it's sort of like the old way we used to list....can't see pictures ot what it looks like, just the typing & HTML so you have to go back & forth between SYI & review to see how it looks.
No nice neat little box where you can type & it will do HTML for you, or click the tab & add your own HTML. No font choice, bolding etc. I feel like I went back to the dark ages, LOL!
Anybody have a clue what to do to fix this?
(I thought maybe ebay was tweaking something so I didn't worry immediately. I've logged out of ebay & off the internet, then logged back into ebay & still get the same thing.
This is what it says on the SYI page:
"Can't see the item description field? Use this alternative. ")

So wait, do you have to click "preview description" to see it in HTML? Have you started using Mozilla FF recently? If so that's probably your problem.

Nope, SYI page opens to the "closed" listing, I scroll down to change the description, (or change title or subtitle) so you get the description page. All looks normal at the top, tilte, sub tilte, then there is a little blurb about desctiption the I get then line that says "Can't see the item description field? Use this alternative. "
I click the use this alternative-which is a clickable link, then I go to the decription box with the HTML. there is no option to preview the description, it's like I went back a few years in ebay time.
(Used to be you just had the blank box & whatever you typed in it was what you got. If you typed HTML you got it, if not then you got a big paragraph. Upon relisting you got the same box with whatever you had it in before & you just changed the contents if you needed to.)
It's almost like ebay did an upgrade or something & I got left out.
Like when they changed the SYI page a couple years ago. You could use the old way or the new way, then *POOF* the old way just dissapeared, and you had this new set up you had to learn, if you hadn't already played with it.........
cept right now it's like ebay upgraded & forgot me...and I didn't even get to keep the SYI form they had, it thru me back several years.

Don't worry Hazel....it's not just you.
Karyl & I were both trying to do some revisions on store items and auctions last night (as in KISS MY AZZ eBay TOS explanations of the "transit times" ) and we both were getting the flake out pages and "WTF is this????" pages.
Most likely it is a combination of them tweeking the crap out of stuff and God knows what is bleeding over from the SYI-2 beta testing and most likely some OTHER englitchment they are playing with but haven't announced.

There were some posts on the ebay boards(don't remember which one) about major problems with stuff.

I don't know WHY they can't just leave something that WORKS alone!
