Question
Looking for "adult learn to read videos" and other than "hooked on phonics" I can't find even one little set of videos on eBay!!!!!....
Need them for a new worker in my store and prices on the web are quite high! (like $200 for a set!)....
I figure I'm just missin' something??????

Are you trying looking for videos for READING or VERBAL skills? And you are looking for English, right?
I checked out TESOL on eBay and found nothing... but an "ESL" search will give you lots of stuff to choose from... mostly for verbal skills...
Early Advantage Language Courses are family oriented courses primarily for verbal (and some reading skills). Mostly you will find French/English or Spanish/English versions although there are Chinese, German... versions. When you get a Spanish version (we have one), it should come with 2 Spanish tapes and the equivalent English tapes. Many of the sections are written and verbal, but the intent is to teach verbal skills. There are a couple of workbooks that come with the set but they are probably in the not-English language.

On eBay, try doing a search on "Muzzy". Muzzy is the main character and is our hero! And it is fun! Those songs may go through your head for years to come...
I've been told that these were "all the rage" at some universities... kind of a Muzzy-cult-thing going on!
As I said... I own a copy of Spanish Muzzy, but I don't have any other tie to the company. And I'm not likely to sell my copy!

Thanx GW.....I'm looking for "Learning to Read" for adults....But I'll be sure to check out the TESOL items for the owner of the store next door who's first language in Spanish and he speaks english, OK, but could really use some help....
My "student" needs the videos because he can't read, ergo, he couldn't read a book on how to read a book...

I'm not teachin' him english (New Yawk enlish) I'm tryin' to help him learn to read.....He was pushed thru school (back when "just push 'em to the next grade" was the popular procedure) without really knowin' how to read, and really wants to learn (he hates not knowing how) but the classes in our area are booked solid....

You might also keep an eye out for learning disabilities / dyslexia type things. Common reason for "not really knowin' how to read"
