Question
Received a message via my ebay from a bidder saying:
i have not recieved my item yet. u cashed my check nov 5. if i do not recieve in 5 days i will contact ebay. item no.XXXXXXXXX.
First off...I didn't cash her check on the 5th-it was a Saturday & the bank isn't open on Saturday.......Her item shipped on the 18th, and USPS web site shows it as delivered on the 21st (thank heavens for DC).
There was a delay in shipping because I was sick, & I emailed & let folks know about the delay.
At this point I have a polite answer formulated, explaining it WAS shipped & delivered as shown by the USPS web site (along with a screen capture of the USPS web site showing it was delivered) and suggesting she check with other family members & if an apartment or condo to check with her neighbors.
Bidder has been on ebay since 2002, has 3 total feedback-2 pos. one neg. and they don't leave feedback, only repond to feedback left for them. The one neg was for nonpayment in 2003, and they haven't bought anything since April of this year.
So what would you do? Refund her money? Ship another of the item? just send the email & do nothing else?
Usually, I'll say give it a few more days & if it doesn't show up I'll reship. But since it shows as delivered, I'm not sure what/how I want to handle it.
What would you do?

Answer
your answer sounds good to me. I would add a blurb about checking with the USPS since they said it was delivered.
Good luck!
Answer
Just tell them that since DC showed it was delivered, you need to file a fraud claim with the USPS so they can trace the shipment. Tell them you will resolve isssue once the USPS responds with the result of the trace.
Give them the DC number so they see the delivery info.
Usually, the package will suddenly show up.
Answer
they need to go to the Post office and ask . I had a package coming to me about a month ago signiture was required so they left a slip in the mailbox I went to the post office they couldnt find it but the manager said she would check and call me the next day
a week later no call from her and the online dc showed it had been delevred the day I talked to her . I went back told my story to a clerk who looked in the back for about 20 min and came out with it .
chances are good its at the PO

There is your answer sweetcheeks!
You shipped.....the PO delivered.....what SHE did with it is HER problem! She lost any need for you to be reasonable when she started the "i will turn you in" crap!
Answer
THanks for the opinions!
I DID ask at my PO when I went out today & they said bacically what's been said here.......bidder has to deal at their end, since it's been "delivered" according to the PO scan.
And that I did my part..they paid, I shipped & it says it WAS delivered.
Besides......ebay's just a venue......
Off to add the bidder to my blocked bidder list.

Interesting.....
I sent off my "polite response" & it was returned as mailer daemon "user is not our customer" "user unknown"....and it's the email addy she uses for ebay.......
(she sent the question via the ebay system, i just responded directly by clicking reply)
Answer
Report for invalid contact information and she MAY Be NARU'd and you won't have to deal with any of it. As I understand it, the rules are less stringent than they used to be with invalid contact info. But it's worth a shot!
Answer
there you go , cutomer didnt receive the item so lets see if we can get them NARU so we dont have to deal with it . great customer service plan
Answer
I always give them an easy out. Here's what I would say:
Dear Space Cadet;
Thank you for your email. Delivery confirmation (or UPS/fedex tracking) shows your package was delivered 2/9 at 5:12PM. Please check with the other members of your household to see if they put your package in a safe place for you.
Best wishes,
Gracious seller
Most of the time they never answer, but when they do they say my husband, child, wife, dog or whatever put the package in the closet, under the stairs, behind the bushes... you get the picture. I roll my eyes and move on.
