Question
I just had a buyer who paid by snail mail email and say she tried to leave me feedback but couldn't. When she tried to leave feedback ebay said she couldn't because I hadn't marked the item as paid in my ebay. New enhancement? Anyone know?
Answer
I wish that was true - wouldn't it be great that they couldn't leave feedback unless we said they paid? But for that reason alone, it can't possibly be true. Maryanne
Answer
kept2much, this has happened to me twice lately. Both buyers wrote and asked me to mark the item paid because eBay wouldn't let them leave feedback until I did.
Why couldn't two people leave feedback, but many others could? I couldn't even figure out a way to mark the item paid because I don't use all that stuff on My Ebay. I had to go to the site map and find the directions and read them. I had no idea there were drop-down menus where it says to print a shipping label. I don't have time to go through and mark every auction paid or shipped or whatever.
I, too, wonder what the problem was for the buyer?
Answer
She did leave me feedback right after I marked the auction paid. I never thought of reading the directions on the site map-may have to go do that so I know how to use more functions on the My Ebay page. Ebay likes to make us do stuff their way don't they? Never mind that I have a system that's worked for me for years. I just clicked on the mark payment received link in the auction to make it show as paid.
Answer
I really don't think there is any eBay reason that they couldn't leave feedback without it being marked BUT I suspect they wanted it "marked" for thier own reasons before they would leave it. They may not realize that on that drop down menu there is another option to "unmark" the item as paid!
